If you are using Windows XP, themes certainly do decrease the computer. In fact a pc magazine recently testedd it and brought up a few pc's speeds up 20-30% by deactivating themes. Right-click your desktop, select properties, and select the "Windows-Classic" theme to improve your machine's speed :-) Hope this helped...

yes just delete programs you are not using
