Just about everyone tries in at least once. A lot of people don't even get high there first time(they don't inhale right.) Somebody on here said that it is hard to quit...that is a lie. Marijuana is like the easiest drug to quit. Alcohol and cigarettes are far more addicting than weed, in my opinion. I have smoked(a lot) in the past and I don't now. You can smoke one day and quit the next. When you quit the worst thing that happens is that you will be grouchy for 4 or 5 days because your body and mind still want it. The side effects of smoking it aren't that bad either. The high you get from weed doesn't really impair you like they show on the commercials. They really exaggerate on them, I guess as a scare tactic to keep kids from trying it. You can still function as normal. You just feel different. You feel relaxed and tired, but not to the point it is going to knock you out. You get real HUNGRY and food tastes a lot better when you are stoned. There are some bad side effects; like with smoking cigarettes, weed can effect the quality of your breathing. You will get congested if you smoke too much or too often. It can make you forgetful. Especially if someone tells you something you need to remember and you are high, there is probably a 50/50% chance you won't remember what it was. There are "good" side effects though or else it wouldn't have even been considered as a medicine and it is legal in some places. If it was legal everywhere you would be surprised at all the people you know that would smoke it. Marijuana can relieve stress, anxiety, and give an appetite and pain relief to the sick. It can be fun to use recreationally too. It will loosen up people to have fun. Stoners aren't mouthy and want to fight when they smoke, like drinkers do. Most of them just want to sit and chill with there fellow potheads and just have a good time. It doesn't flare up bad tempers. I guess you can tell that I am pro-marijuana, but I can't do it anymore. Back when i was younger and only had myself to worry about it was fine to smoke whenever i wanted, but a lot has changed since then, I have 2 people that I have to worry about besides myself. If i am in jail that would make that difficult. I really don't know about marijuana and the bible. I do know that it says somewhere in there to "obey the laws of the land." In some places it is legal and in others it isn't so I don't know what would be considered right in Gods eyes. Well, I hope this settles your curiousity a bit. I told you a lot on the subject so now you are the one that has to make the final decision!

A little pot won't hurt you as long as it's not mixed with anything weird. Be careful.
I don't recommend it though because I think it actually impedes spiritual growth and it does tend to cloud the mind and dull clear thinking.
It also takes a lot longer to leave your system than booze does. Alcohol leaves you in a day or two, but the THC in pot can linger in your system for a couple of months.
Also the more you smoke the less you need because the active ingredient stays in your body for a long time and builds up.
Once you've tried it a few times, I'd say to lay off. Life is much better when it's experienced with clarity and attention.
Also, pot is illeagal in most countries and depending on the state or province you are in the laws against it can be very stringent so be warned.

correct the Bible does not forbid the use of weed. It says every seed has it's purpose. It does treat some ailments. The Bible does not advance the cause of escapism however and when used for that it can be a detrement to your growth. Also some who have a weakness in their lungs shoulkd try some other method of use if they have a problem it helps with such as PTSD

I take this for pain. I am legal to do so in our state (I can have a pound of it legally).
There is about 10 different kinds but I am not that much into it. All I do is ask for the stuff for pain. It lets me function.
This has been around for centuries. If you are not legal to have it I do not see why having it around. All it will cause you and your family are problems! I waiting to get legal first (this way to one does not have to go out on the streets to get it).
I have had great results on it. Instead of those pill pushing doctors drugs I have had no side effects from this drug. Takes the pain away without making me throw up. No seizures on this either! Migraines do not hurt so bad either.
I have never used this recreational so as far as having fun on it, never had, take enough for the pain to go away....
One does not need to "smoke" it. There are many other ways...
Get legal first, then go get it. If you do not need it medically why have it?
BTW many two faced people out there who will down a person for taking something like this, but feels it is OK to take cocaine, speed, other forms of drugs in pill form. Just do not get it!

No intoxication is recommended in Christianity. While I don't know if there was "weed" available back in the Bible days, there was certainly wine and "strong drink". Drunkenness (altered state of consciousness due to drink) was FORBIDDEN during worship, so was alcohol of any kind (during worship).
Basically, if you want to seek God, stay sober. Getting high or loaded or stoned won't get you any closer to God. It will just get you closer to dead. One of the side affects of knowing God's voice is supposed to be a "sound mind". How are you going to find that in a joint?
I have never smoked anything, and I never will.

It does have to do with the Bible. First of all, it is harmful to your body/brain therefore you should not partake in it, as you are to treat your body as a temple and take care of it. Second, it is illegal, there for you would be breaking laws, you are supposed to follow the laws of the government. So yes it does have to do with the Bible and no you should not do it. But you know that already. It think you are looking for an excuse to justify using.

One obvious down is that in the United States, it's illegal, It also kills brain cells, the same as alcohol or any other drug, and depletes motivation. It makes your reaction times slower, your thinking clouded and is more harmful to your lungs than even cigarettes. Since you don't already smoke it, why get started? It's expensive and adds nothing to your life but negatives. If you want to add something to your life, try a new-to-you challenging sport or interest, instead, you'll get a lot more good and a lot less bad, from it. Just my opinion. >^..^<

first of all, jesus said to obey the institutions of man. where i live it is against the law to use it recreationally. i do believe the medicinal purposes can be broadened greatly, and would be better to use than some of the chemicals in the pills used as treatment. second the bible talks about overindulgence, by this i mean getting high for the hell of it. overindulgence of something takes away from the reliance of god and his place as number one. this can be categorized as idol worship. this also damages your witness and testamony of christ to the rest of the world. and as well, i quit hanging around my friends who did nothing but eat, drink, sleep, and breath weed because they were generally bringing me down with them. lastly, the bible does talk about your body as a temple. i know this is seldom, but in an illegal drug market weed can be laced with other harmful things, like other, more dangerous drugs. it would be in the market's best interest to use synergy to broaden the user base by secretly addicting smokers to other drugs (this could be a good arguement for it to be legalized, therefore marijuana use can be monitored on a safe level.)
as a christian, jesus lived his life as an example as we should live. don't you think jesus would pass on grass?

The Bible says our body is a temple. We aren't to harm it. Since smoking tobacco is bad, and marijuana contains similar chemicals, it is bad too. We also are to be in control of our minds and bodies. So we shouldn't use anything that would cause loss of control.
