The government put together a website in accordance with the USDA's Dietary Guidelines. It's very useful, and very easy to use. Use the following web addresses. The first is the homepage of the site, the second is a page where you can set up a FREE account to track your daily progress not only of nutritional intake but also your daily activity which is just as important! The tracker lets you know if you've met your recommended daily intake for each particular nutrient based on your height, weight, sex, and physical activity level.
Whatever you do, don't subscribe to any of these crash or fad diets, and certainly do not take any prescribed diets from anyone without first checking their credentials. For your safety you should make sure that they are a Registered Dietician.
Hope this has helped!
