just keep the receipt..but if you think you are gonna get declined..why propose?

If you are that unsure of the situation, you shouldn't propose.

If you already did and got a big suprise, then it depends on the return policy of the store you bought the ring at. Most will take it back for refund for a while. Others have lifetime trade up policies so you could keep it and get an even better ring when you find the right girl.

Im not too sure about that refund on the ring.... some jewelers are different than others in that reguard.
Hey! why dont you do what the guy did in the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" he took her to a jewelry shop- that he had arranged with the jewelers what is going to happen.. and then as they browsed he got down on one knee....Surprised the daylights out of her!!!! and then have the jewelers bring over a selection of rings for her to choose that you previously thought had matched your budget!!!!!!!! if she refuses in the jewelry store, at least she's is more embarrassed than you---also you never shelled out a penny!!!!

goodluck

If you are that unsure of her answer then ask her first, then take her with you to pick out the ring. Or you can have one picked out and then go get it after she says yes. Some stores will put a diamond into a really inexpensive setting so you don't spend too much at first and then you can have it reset into something more like she would want later. Good luck

1. If you are that unsure about the outcome then maybe you shouldn't ?

2. If she says 'no' then you should expect to be at your wits end and unable to cope. You seem to expect that getting the money back is most important - so maybe you shouldn't ?

3. But to answer the question - yes, you will get a refund if you ask before you buy.

Good luck ;-)

I like the fun idea of a shower curtain ring or anything that could stand as a placeholder until you can both pick it out. (If you have a good humorous relationship that is.) My grandfather proposed to my grandmother in the 1920's with the paper band off one of his cigars! He bought her a ring later. And they were happily married over 50 years!

So if you feel like your relationship is comfortably enough to pull that off, I think it's a great idea.

Make the deal with the jeweler upfront and have the receipt marked, unconditionally returnable for full refund in 30 days.

Yes, but it's probably worth hanging onto the ring because you never know when you might want to propose again.

Better still use a curtain ring then if she says yes you go buy a real ring with her because she will know what she really like and not be one of those poor women who are right now looking at their engagement rings wishing that the guy took them to shop for it.

Most places will give you a full refund on the ring as long as it is not damaged.

hi, if you want to refund the ring keep the receipt and it shouldn't be a problem or you can be a tight wad and save it for when you meet another girl and give it to her if she says yes, lol
