Actually I see it as a wonderful book of fables where you can find great wisdom.
I also think that it can be used as a crutch for a weak mind that chooses to take everything literally. But for an active thinking mind such as Erasmus' or Moore, then I think the bible can be the catalyst for great discussion and open minded spiritual debate.

When people know all there is available about it, it's history and how it was preserved down to this day, what it's been through, and just how accurate it really is, it is indeed appreciated and excepted as the word of God.
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
2Ti 3:17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Yes there is inaccurate versions of it, but they are allowed be God. Why? Because the truth that leads to eternal life can be found in those also.

Half truth is way overstating its reliability, since everything from Ezra's time back is borrowed Babylonian mythology and oral traditions, and everything from Paul forward is Greco-Roman-Persian paganism and few, if any, first hand accounts, but like every collection of human myth, history and wisdom, there are some gems in amidst the rubble.

I just see it as a learning tool and not to be taken so literally. I would never worship a God who would punish thats not right. We are humans and deserve to be loved every one of us and the talk of sin that goes on here is just plain stupied. Sin does not exist its humans learning how to be humans. God loves not hates!

It is a fictional book of exaggerated legends that was edited by a Pagan Caesar.
Personally, I'd be very interested to see all of what was edited out of the book.

It's not half truth either. Much of it is a collection of ancient fables originally intended to be taken metaphorically.
