My baby was born just the other day. I am unable to breast feed due to a nasty softball accident three years ago where my breast fell off sliding into second base. When I asked my doctor about feeding my newborn formula, he told me that formula would not be necessary, just stop by McDonalds and feed her a parfait. Is this ok to feed a newborn? Help please!!

OMG UR DOCTOR NEEDS TO BE REPORTED!!!!!!!!!!!! don't do that. Ur baby needs to be on formula for at lest 4 months then u can give some baby food but only the amount of a teaspoon. For the next yr she has to have formula then at 1 yr old give her some cows milk too. I have a 3yo and a 15 month old and that's was what i was told to do from health professionals.

was your doc kidding? that is crazy...go with your gut feeling and feed you and your baby the healthiest food possible...i did have guiness to help me...just half a beer...the relaxing helped and supposedly the bvitamins..or you could just take a multivitamin. fish oil is also good. you aren't supposed to give a newborn food until at least 4 months old! check out doctor sears website.

stick with formula. and a doctor would never say that, so I know this was an idea all of your own. you probably just don't want to breast feed, too. feed an infant anything but formula, and i'm sure you'll have social services knocking at your door shortly there after.

technically...no!

all the foods in mcdonalds have many nutrients and fats and cholesterol that is not supposed to be eaten by newborn babies yet! even parfait is bad for the newborn babies. I heard news about someone feeding parfait to a newlyborn baby and later...the baby died. The mother was really angry about it. i suggest that you should just feed her milk from a bottle. it's not really bad for a baby ..... it'll even be good for her too.

Beat the doctor up with your personal collection of whips and chains. I'm glad you got your own now. It seems to be the cool thing to have where you're from. lol

Is this your idea of a joke? First of all breasts don't fall off and as for feeding a baby anything other then breast milk or formula, that is completely irresponsible. No competent pediatrician would recommend that.

Maybe because your doctor wasnt thinking. babies at that age cant eat solid foods because they would choke to death and the best food for your baby right now is baby formula and baby food. not solid foods.

What a stupid joke. Did BOTH of your breasts "fall off"? NO? Then use the other one.
No doctor would tell you that and it is not even funny.
Breastfeeding is the only responsible way to feed a newborn baby.
I bet you are a guy. You are aren't you? Only a guy could be so stupid about something so important.
Grow up!
