Using the soft, restful sage for the main wall color, and warmer rich hues as accents, would look well in an office or study area.

If you are going to be spending a lot of time at a desk. Get some match pots in rest full colours and paint a large square on a piece of large cardboard and prop it up at the desk. If you find it easy on the eye go for it.

I personally prefer light green.
Reason:
1. Not too distracting.
2. Easy on eye.
3. Helps comfort the eyes after long reading or working on PC.
4. Does not absorb much ambient light, so doesn't give "dark room" feeling.

It depends on what mood you want for your study. I would go with a sort of maroon or brown-ish red. A classical look would be perfect. Try dark leather sofas and red oak tables.

Yellow is supposed to stimulate brain activity and creative thought... maybe that's something to consider.
