hi i've been off school for over a week with flu/cold like symtoms. I'm a ment to be going on a school trip on Friday to belgium. I have to get up at 3am and don't get back till 11pm that night. I've been trying everything to get better as i don't want to miss it as i've paid a lot of money and i booked it nearly 6 months ago! I have major headachs, coughs, sneezes, shaking, cold and head cold. i've been taking vitamin c in through oranges, orange juice and vit. c tablets. Is there anything else i can do to get better by Friday? Please help= (

Try Echinacea - its a herbal remedy but people swear by it xx

I hope you bought insurance with that trip too. If you are that sick, they might not let you travel. Besides, you would not be able to have a good time feeling that way. It takes a long time to get over the flu.

I know I was sick last spring but didn't want to miss this competition the kids were in...I had laringitis and thought I would be ok but I got even worse down there.

I can't imagine having the flu and feeling like you do. It's awful when these things happen but they do. You'll only succeed in making everyone around you sick too if you are still this sick by the time you leave, and then you may risk everyone being ill and they may get peeved at you for that.

Sometimes these are 24 hour bugs but if you've had it a while it will likely take a while to get over. Just rest if you are really adament about going, but if you have a fever, they might ban you from boarding a flight. Make sure you get additional insurance for illness if you do go. You can buy this in advance for about $30 from CAA/AAA or other insurance companies. Hospitals and medicine in a foreign country can cost an arm and leg.

Sounds like you have the flu virus. You are doing all the right things but a virus has to take it's course. Stay in bed and rest. Boring i know but if you try and fight it, it will take longer to recover. Do this and you should be a lot better by Friday. Good Luck .Hope you enjoy Belgium

Stay wrapped up. Plenty of hot drinks. Paracetamol every 4 hours to bring your temperature down and ease the headaches. Hope you're well enough to go on the trip and have a great time. Remember, not to try and over-do things because your body will still be weak

Hi you are doing all the rights things so far,just keep warm,stay in bed,drink plenty off fluids,and hopefully you may be ok by Friday,if you aint i wouldnt go you would not enjoy yourself feeling like this.Hope you feel better soon.x

you need food plenty of food they say feed a cold starve a fever,, get outside during the day for a small walk don't sit huddled up by a fire. fresh air and plenty of water and food.. goog luck for friday..
