I suggest you see either a physician or physical therapist. It is probably harmless, but because it recurs, you probably want to keep it from coming back. If money is an issue, see a physical therapist. They charge less than doctors, and the good ones are very skilled. Make sure you get a PT with experience in leg pain (most have this experience). The best way to go about it would be to get exercises from the PT that will help you avoid the pain, and then go back to the PT on a regular basis to report progress or new pain. If you think your pain may come from a sports injury, you may want to consult a doctor familiar with sports injuries and how to treat them. Good luck!
