My brother, after what Pope Benedict XVI said last September, how can you be surprised that a double standard is used when it comes to Christians and Muslims?..Don't forget the Crusades, 'cause discrimination started right there...Making clear that I 100% agree with you about the double standard, and that oddly Christians are considered to be the only good guys while Muslims, Atheists, Pagans, etc etc, are always seen as the bad guys, since we live in a world where Ignorance rules, I must say that in many Christian countries there are lots of jokes and comic strips about Jesus, Mary, God, the Pope and so on; and nobody gets offended by them, 1) because Christian religion allows people to depict God, Jesus and co; and 2) just as long as those jokes and strips are made by Christians; should a Muslim dare to joke about Jesus, they'd make a big big fuss of it;)
What Christians should understand is that Islam, forbids the depiction of both, God and the Prophet and that's why the comics depicting the Prophet were so offensive and unacceptable. Every religion has its own rules and they should be respected by anyone. Before doing something so offensive, Christian should have thought twice. It's not a matter of democracy, or freedom of speech here, it's a matter of respect. The point is that there's a growing Islamophobia all over the Western countries so every excuse is good to attack Muslims and depict them like fanatics and potential terrorists. Shame on those who think like that, shame on a Pope who talks such nonsense.

Muslim man, you are so right in this.
I am from a Christian background, with a interest in the Islam that started about 20 years ago, and that is turning in a very strong interest lately for more than one reason.
My personal opinion on this matter is the following. And please, i do not want to insult anyone, i respect all beliefs and relegions of others. But where i am from, the majority of ppl can not care less if Jesus' name is abused or if he is used in cartoons. The fact that Madonna in her latest show had an act on a cross did not cause much commotion at all. Lot of ppl here call them selves Christians, but do not seem to care really.
Now from what i have seen and read so far, Islam is more than just a religion, it's a way of life. The Qua'ran has so far answered every question i could think of! The whole concept of religion is far more imbedded in daily life, it is in everything you do.
I feel that is not the case anymore with the large majority of the Christian community. They go to church on Sunday, pray before bedtime, but that is about it.
The majority does not respect or care much and just shrug their shoulders.
Maybe because of all this, the majority of ppl does not understand the importance of the Prophet (PBUH) to Muslims. And mostly i think it is fear and ignorance. What ppl do not understand or know they are afraid of.
I'm sorry if i've been rambeling on here!

Unkind comments always reflect bias.....
Most questions that attack Jesus do NOT get removed....
With respect to your religion, I have never seen Muslims get upset over disrespect to jesus, only Mohammed.
I think people should make some effort to be nicer to each other. Most people are a certain faith because that is what they were born into, and taught by their parents....When they become adults, they should evaluate their faith for what it is to be sure it is right with God.
ps... what makes you think pagans witches, and aetheists are on your side?.. they do most of the attacking

Ok! Christians and Catholics are often made fun of! In Movies etc......... There is a long list of movies and cartoons. Take for example the book Da Vinci Code! Can you imagine what if someone had made a similar movie about your God! How many people would have been killed or burnt. The amount of destruction and Arson that would have followed.
My religion does not get shaken up by pieces of fiction or someone wanting to encash upon our saints. The Book and the Movie have come and gone .But Christanity and the followers are still strong. We respect our religious leaders and priests for never instignating us to kill someone just because someone has drawn a cartoon about Christ or written a ficticious book about him.
Please dont go back in History trying to search what Christanity / Christians did centuries back .What matters to you my brother and me is today.
We have a saying in India which when roughly translated reads' The Elephant passes by and the street dogs can only keep barking.'
Peace be with you my brother.

Insulting posts for the sake of it are just childish. If the Prophet's worth his salt, he won't let it bother him. Neither should you. Genuine insults should be reported and removed. I've reported gross insults against Islam - some have been removed, some haven't. Some insults against Christianity stay up too. I don't know if they're biased though I wouldn't defend the Yahoo police.
I don't know if it's true to say that atheists go through the same thing as we have no sacred tenets. Insult Darwin all you like, he's a dead man and I only see the insulter's ignorance. Peace to you.

Muslim man - you know who I am, and you know how I feel.
Yes, we get offended when Jesus is mocked. Most of us have no problem with Muslims getting offended when Mohammed is mocked.
What we don't understand is the violence that seems to follow.
Perhaps you can help us understand.

Everybody is a bit biased. But, poking fun at others religion can be hurtful no matter what. I think we all need to be able to take a joke in good taste, but some jokes go too far. I guess that we all need to know where to draw the line.

Maybe this is due to lack of understanding of the people to your religion. There are many good muslims who are peace loving but the general image of muslims are tainted because of those fanatics in your religion who wants to always declare jihad to almost anybody who do not believe in your faith. I think Jihad is the one causing the problem because by doing this, all the people who does not belong to your faith is your enemy and this means you have to annihilate 3/4 of the world population. Muslims should respect the faith of other people. This and this alone will give us peace in the world and jihad is no solution. It will annihilate the whole world. Because people are just people. No one will just sit down and get killed for the sake of embracing another religion. Remember it is only love that begets love.

each person has the free will to believe as they feel in their heart is the correct way to worship as long as their free will doesn't interfere with the free will and rights of others and as long as the laws rules and mores of the Country in which they reside are not broken. the only real differences in one Religious Belief System and another are the NAMES they refer to GOD as along with the Rituals and Ceremonies they use to Honor, Glorify, Praise, Adore, Pray to and Petition, Thank, etc. there are many paths and ways to get to one's destination such as walking, riding a bike, a motorcycle, a train, a plane, etc. getting there is the important thing -- not how.
