As an antidepressant user, I take mine in the am, but they do not put me to sleep or sedate me in any way. My sister takes the same kind and dosage as I do and they put her to sleep. Do it make any difference, NO! Do you want to sleep the day away and be up at night, it all depends on how that med effect you and you take it accordingly. As long as you take it in the time allotted you can take it at any time. Most people want to be awake in the am. My sister takes hers at night, because she too want to be awake in the am. Your choice.

I would listen to the doc that first prescribed it. The PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) Pocket Guide to Prescription Drugs" says this about the dosage/taking of Prozac: "Prozac should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Prozac usually is taken once or twice a day. To be effective, it should be taken regularly. Make a habit of taking it at the same time you do some other daily activity. It may be 4 weeks before you feel any relief from your depression, but the drug's effects should last about 9 months after a 3 month treatment regimen. For obsessive-compulsive disorder, the full effect may take 5 weeks to appear. If you miss a dose, take the forgotten dose as soon as you remember. If several hours have passed, skip the dose. Never try to "catch up" by doubling the dose. Store at room temperature."

No, it doesn't matter at all, as long as you take it around the same time each day.
When people very first start on SSRIs, like Prozac, they MAY notice either a bit of sleepiness (therefore good to take it at night) OR some people may notice a bit of hyper-ness (therefore good to take it in the morning). After being on it for a few weeks, you will likely feel nothing at all, so it really doesn't matter when you take it.

No time is better time to take Prozac. Morning or night it has the same bad effect on any person.

On of the side effects of Prozac is sleeplessness. If you take your Prozac at night and it doesn't keep you awake than there's no problem.

It all depends on how it affects you personally.
Some people need to take it in the morning, because they need it to be full strength through out the day.
Other people feel dizzy, nauseous, sleepy or just feel better taking it at night.
Hope this helps.

I don't think it makes a difference. It might tend to make you sleepy. In that case, I would say, take it at night.
