Well I can only speak for myself. I don't get ticked off at all if other people disagree with evolution - science thrives on legitimate (informed) criticism. And I don't get ticked off at all is someone says I don't believe in evolution based on my faith. But what really ticks me off is reading outright lies (which sadly, so much creationist propaganda is full of), it doesn't matter if it's about evolution, which happens to be a personal and slightly professional interest, or about something else. What's even more infuriating is seeing such outright lies being swallowed by others, eg. a question which ignores all the good accurate answers and selects a bigoted lie as 'best', and seeing those lies circulate and circulate. Unfortunately, as much as I try not to, if I see a few of those then when I come to answering someone elses question on the subject I can be a bit overly hostile. Anything said about God doesn't bother me.

See what annoys me about the whole 'debate' is that, when I read the question again, based on past experience, it's more likely than not that your not after an honest answer but that it's a loaded question, looking for a bigoted "because evolution is their religion and they will do anything to deny the fact that God exists"

I don't get ticked off if other people disagree with evolution. That's what makes science so great... disagreeing usually leads to further testing and criticism, which leads to better hypotheses and theories.

I get ticked off when other people, who are nothing more then fundies who don't believe in evolution simply because their strawman of it contradicts their precious little Bible, lie about it to tear it down.

The only people who get angry when it is said that "God is the only true God" are those who worship a different invisible man.

If evolution isn't a fact then they'd be as well throwing science books in the bin-there aren't many things in science that are supported by such a wealth of evidence as the fact of evolution. The theory of evolution i.e. the biological mechanisms involved is a different matter but even that is virtually unchallenged by scientists. It therefore should worry people when evolution is challenged through ignorance or bigotry, because it certainly isn't challenged by anyone with a genuine understanding of the facts.

People don't like to have their strong beliefs challenged. They don't want to possibly have to admit they might be wrong or that there could be other answers. Some people believe there is a god for everything, the sun, the rain, ect. For me there is only 1 God. And I don't get mad over comments made about evolution, I just hope those people come to their senses some day before it is to late.

Because people today are too sensitive and we a taught now that we have to be politically correct. If we are not politically correct then we have offended their sensibilities. We have become the land of the offended instead of the land of the free. This happens when you go from a Republic to a Democracy to what we have now, which is a Socialist Democracy.

Add on top of that that people would rather believe a “THEORY”, which from the Merriam=Webster’s dictionary online means #1“the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another”

#1 “the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another”
#2 “abstract thought : SPECULATION”
#3 “the general or abstract principles of a body of fact, a science, or an art
#4 “a belief, policy, or procedure proposed or followed as the basis of action b : an ideal or hypothetical set of facts, principles, or circumstances -- often used in the phrase in theory
#5 “plausible or scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena
#6 hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation b : an unproved assumption : CONJECTURE c : a body of theorems presenting a concise systematic view of a subject

However, if you have a 1919 Webster’s dictionary you will find the definition that is closer to “Darwin’s” understanding of what a “theory” meant, for today we have changed many meanings to fit our understanding, here it is
#1 “Contemplation, Speculation”
#2 “The general or abstract principles of any body of facts real or assumed”
#3 Apprehension or analysis of a given set of factors in their ideal relation to one another; as, essays in the theory.”
#4 “A general principle, formula, or ideal construction, offered to explain phenomena and render more or less plausible by evidence in the facts or by exactness and relevancy of the reasoning.”
#5 “A plan or scheme theoretically constructed.”

There is a large difference between the to dictionaries, why is this? Or wait I know, we have a better understanding of the English language today! What a lie!

If one were to be honest they would have to say that a “theory” is not based upon facts alone, but ideals and some factual bases.

It is just like the FACT that “ring radiology” has been proven to be exact in determining the age of different items, where as carbon dating continually changes that is about every 25 years or so.

People want to believe in men’s ways, men’s theory’s and they refuse to follow God’s ways. They are so blinded to God that they are really following satan and they do not even know it, nor do they care.

Evolution and atheism are both a religion even if they do not want to acknowledge it as such.

people generally dont get angry as much as frustrated , that their belief isnt taken as valid as anothers
as there is no solid proof of one thing any more than there is of another
i believe in God ... but i know i could not prove this to anyone who doesnt have the same personal proof as i have had
i also believe in evolution to a degree , but again i have nothing more than theories and little pieces of fact to back this up
i believe in God as i said ... but i know that i have no valid proof that the God i believe in is any more true or valid than anyone elses God that differs from my own ideas of what God is
so it isnt anger ... it is frustration that some people think they know because their own proof tells them so ... even though that proof is not anything more than a strong personal belief

I don't get ticked off when other people disagree with evolution.

I do get ticked off when other people want the Judeo-Christian creation story taught alongside evolution as science.

Dunno really.

I can see that some people have really deeply held beliefs. I can even see that sometimes they think that what they believe is somehow central to who they are.

What I don't get is why they think that anyone with a different idea or belief is somehow getting at them. If you are secure in your beliefs then how can someone else's (presumably erroneous) opinion affect that?

would presume this is because like many they have the mindset they are the only ones who are correct and as such they want to have everyone believe they know all the answers. they forget they need to respect the free will and rights of others
