well you could try a number of things, namely:

a change in diet - try to avoid oily foods or foods that you have noticed that cause your skin to get very oily the next day

try tea tree oil (some skin care products have this in so look at the ingredients) this is very good for oily prone skina nd its natural

iv heard that if you dab some olive oil on your skin at night (not too much) it prevents your skin form producing too much sebum (oil) as it no longer feels that it is deficient. iv tried it and it works!

another tip is to not get obsessive and wash your skin too often as you can wash away the essential oils that your skin naturally producing which can result in your skin producing an excess of oil. The acne is a result of your oily skin so once this is irradicated you'll find that your acne will disappear

good luck

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

According to a book I have on household remedies dabbing pimples with either Colgate Toothpaste or Listerine Mouthwash will help dry the pimple out. Both say to apply a small dab to the area for a few days. I'd prolly go with the listerine as it shouldn't leave an obvious spot like the toothpaste will.

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

i used to see a dermatologist and he told me use the neutrogena bar soap. not the liquid. ill get some more info for you in a min.

Clay masks and mud masks are good temporary and natural treatments for oily skin. Masks absorb the oil from the surface of your skin and leave you feeling refreshed right away. The darker the mask, the more oil it will absorb, and lighter-colored masks are gentler and best for sensitive skin.

Washing with hot water and soap prevents oily skin. Whether you're showering or washing your face, using hot water will work best to dissolve the excess oils on your skin. Choose a strong soap or astringent to clean your skin even more.

Avoiding oily skin-care products prevents oily skin. After washing your skin use oil-free lotions and moisturizers or sprinkle on some baby (talcum) powder instead. This will keep your skin feeling refreshed and moisturized without leaving behind greasy residue.

Choosing the right make-up prevents oily skin. Don't use a lot of liquid-based foundation, concealer, blush, or eye-shadow. Choose powder-based products, or products containing acne medication, instead. These will work to dry up excess oil and treat your pores at the same time.

A healthy diet can prevent oily skin. Don't eat a lot of greasy and fatty foods; the oils in these foods can eventually work their way out through your skin glands. Look for foods that contain unsaturated fats, which are good for you when eaten in moderation, and balance these with lots of fresh produce and vitamins.

Added stress can cause oily skin. Extra stress in your life will strain your body as well, so if you find that your skin is oilier when you're anxious or busy take the time to wind down and relax. The sweat from a good workout will clean out your pores and refresh your skin as well.

Treatment for Oily Skin
If the above suggestions don't help you can always look for skin-care products designed specifically for your problem. Stronger astringents and toners are available, and products containing alpha hydroxy acids work to normalize skin without causing damage or added stress. Talking to a dermatologist may help you find more treatment options.

How to Get Rid of Acne
Article Source : Foras Aje Time : December 10, 2005

Learning how to get rid of acne is something that any acne sufferer will give their right arm to secure. Well maybe that's an exaggeration, however, for most people with acne, seeking a a successful treatment could become an obsession. Understandably, suffering from acne is a painful situation, so being successful at how to get rid of acne is worth it.

Take it from a guy who was afflicted with acne for close to 8 yearsthis image distorting skin crisis characterized by bumps, excessively oily or dry skin and an accompanying low self-esteem and depression (in most cases) is simply horrifying!

The good news my friends is if you suffer from acne, or know someone who does, it can be controlled and eventually cured without spending tons of money on drugs, visits to dermatologists or as I have heard, even plastic surgery. Trust me, I have been there and know how acne can ruin a persons whole self-image and the desperate measures one might be considering in the quest of finding how to get rid of acne.

The first thing any acne sufferer must realize is that any disease-regardless of its medical diagnosis-is a product of constipation, a clogging up of the body tissues. Consequently, as the body fights to unclog its organs, the process becomes manifested in several ways.

Disease is an attempt of the body to rid itself of these toxins and since, according to Dr. Stanley Burroughs, the skin is the next most important eliminating organ (second only to the lungs), acne is merely an indication that you need to cleanse yourself internally and take simple measures to alleviate the outer symptoms as the cleanse proceeds.

How to Get Rid of Acne: Internal Cleansing Methods

Well, as I have mentioned in quite a few of my articles, the best way to do an internal cleanse (and the fastest I must say) will be to undergo a juice or water fast. Being a radical discipline, it must be undertaken with care but it is with confidence in a fasts unmatched ability to restore health that you can be rest assured to see a drastic improvement in your skin condition at the end of about a 3 to 4 day fast.

I have covered the subjects on the types, when, why and how long to undergo a fast in my e-book, but you can always do your own research in regards to this restorer of health.

As a preliminary stage to a fast and as a suggested dietetic lifestyle, if you are serious about learning how to get rid of acne and keeping it off, you must make a change in your diet and eliminate all mucus (acid) forming foods such as processed (junk) foods, fast foods, confectioneries, soft-drinks and eat more wholesome and natural foods like your fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, nuts, root vegetables, fresh juices-basically foods that are mucus (alkaline-forming) binding.

Though covered in chapter 13 of the core e-book of my site, you can type up mucus forming and binding foods in any search engine like Google and educate yourself more on this subject. It is not by co-incidence or an error that Hippocrates the father of medicine once stated that: Let your foods be your medicine and your medicine your foods as nature is the healer of all diseases!

Although knowing what to eat is of uttermost importance, you must learn when and how to eat these right foods. I will make a statement here that may go against every thing you may have read or heard on nutrition but I know what I am saying from close to 6 years on trying this simple method on myself. The worst meal that we as humans partake of is breakfast.

How so the uninformed may ask; well based on scientifically proven research on thousands of people for over two centuries on such health principles as food combination and the realization that the human body goes through a cleansing process from twelve midnight until twelve noon, and a building program from twelve noon to twelve midnight, your meals during these respective periods should be harmonious with the natural processes.

How to Get Rid Of Acne: Suggested Diet Menu

Breakfast:

A choice of the following

1. A tall glass of Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice.

2. A tall glass of Fresh squeezed lemonade flavored with genuine maple Syrup (the darker the grade the better)

Lunch:

A mono-meal of an organic fruit in season for example Apples in the fall and winter, Melons in the summer, Berries in spring.

Dinner:

Fresh, home-made salads.

A simple dressing could be

(a)Lemon juice, olive oil and un-iodized sea-salt

(b)Avocadoes or Green coconuts blended with tomatoes and some sea salt

Or

Raw and/or cooked root vegetables such as Celery, Carrots, Potatoes, Plantains, raw or slightly heated fruit veggies (these can be blended into Soups or dressings for your salads)

Some factors that must also be noted to ensure the maximum assimilation of nutrients from our meals include thoroughly masticating or chewing the mouthfuls of ones meals for as the Indian proverb goes chew your foods well as the stomach has no teeth.

In addition, I have also outlined the menu plan above keeping proper food combinations in mind. For free information on this subject, you can type up food combining in any search engine or check out the URL in the next paragraph.

Moreover, refrain from the habit of drinking liquids with your meals, as I stated in the free resources section of my site on controlling asthma, drinking ANY liquids with your meals tends to dilute the digestive juices in your stomach which consequently deters digestion, assimilation and increases the tendency for constipation. If you must drink water after or before a meal, wait a solid hour or so before or after eating.

As is known in the drugless healing world, this simple, yet extremely effective dietetic change has been known to alleviate most otherwise incurable human ailments including acne, asthma and obesity.

One factor I must add (from my own personal experience with this device while undergoing a 10 day juice fast) is to AVOID THE USE OF MICROWAVES STARTING NOW.

Now that I have briefly covered the internal measures on how to get rid of acne, lets go over the external ones.

How to Get Rid of Acne: Tips on External Methods

*Never repeat the use of a pillowcase in 2 days, always change them nightly so get 7 clean ones. Be conscious of how they are folded to ensure you sleep on the unexposed side upon unfolding the pillowcases.

*As much as possible, keep unwashed hands off of your face, if you must touch it, say for example, to scratch an itch, ensure to use the back of your hands.

*Try to sleep on your right side. Besides making your sleep more refreshing, this practice ensures that you keep your face off of the pillow and freer to breathe during the night. As an added benefit, your heart functions much better as you are not putting pressure on it based on this position of the body during sleep.

*Wash your hair with a mild shampoo every night especially if you use greasy hair products, or use a wrap-around nightcap that covers the hair and ensure the cap is washed every morning.

*Make frequent visits to the steam room of a gymnasium or you can steam the face at home as an alternative. The aim here is to aid the skin in eliminating toxins through sweating.

*Massage the face regularly as this not only aids in cleansing the face, but it firms up the skin and alleviates unwanted signs of aging such as crows feet, bags under the eyes, lines and wrinkles.

*Engage in some form of exercise to aid the body in detoxification and metabolism. Being one of the three limbs of drugless healing, exercise keeps you younger, fit and healthylike you didnt already know that. I must single out Yoga as one of the best forms of exercise to choose. Some poses such as the Sun Salutations, the Shoulder-Stand and the Peacock pose have been known through the ages to help alleviate many skin disorders and did I mention they give you the added bonus of making you stronger.

*For my male readers; if you are of African or Hispanic descent, most barbers recommend you use electric clippers to shave. For Caucasians & Asians, I have observed that using razors might not be a problem although if you prefer, you can use electric clippers also. Ensure that you shave in the direction of the hair's growth (mostly downwards) for an after-shave; it is advised that you perform the facial massaging as well afterwards.

How to Get Rid of Acne: Closing Thoughts

In conclusion, acne, as impossible as it at times may seem, is (like almost every other disease) very easy to control and with drugless, all natural methods at that. You just need to be shown how. It is my hope that in a few weeks after you read AND apply the steps in this article; you too will be successful at finding out how to get rid of acne for yourself all naturally.

Acne Remedy

It has been said 'anything worth having is worth striving for' or you could say 'you reap what you sow.' I must inform you my friend that a sacrifice of some sort may be required of you to banish this deforming skin condition, but with the guidelines offered in section 3 of the downloadable e-book, your efforts will surely be crowned with success.

The sacrifice is what has been acclaimed world wide as the nearest approach to a cure-all which is Fasting combined with a properly selected diet. This doesn't mean you would have to go without food (although that is, if desired the final stage) there are juice fasts, fruit fasts, dry fasts etc that are easy and highly beneficial for acne treatment and control.

They only need to be undertaken for 48 hours or more and combined with the Menus and Recipes offered in Chapter 16 of my e-book, which adhere strictly to such guidelines as: Avoiding Disease Forming and Eating Body healing foods; when to eat them and in what combinations, you definitely are well on the path to not just smoother skin but an overall increase in Health and Fitness.

Before we go over the natural acne treatment I used to cure my pimples, let’s go over some factors such as the common types of acne, acne treatment medicines and why they actually may NOT be beneficial and a general overview of drug-free healing as a remedy for acne.

Types of Acne Requiring Treatment

Now acne is commonly described as the appearance of blackheads, spots and pustules on the face, back and chest. Contrary to popular belief, it is not just teenagers who have acne. It affects 25% of all adult men and 50% of adult women at some time. There are two types of acne classifications, one is acne vulgaris and the other is acne roseaca. Each of these classifications also have sub-categories depending on the type, but the good news here is regardless of the symptom or kind of acne, drug-free healing is not limited in its use, even when it comes to acne treatment.

-Acne vulgaris includes: Blackheads, Whiteheads, Papules, Pustules, Nodules and Cysts.

-Acne roseaca-on the other hand-is similar to acne vulgaris (oily skin, spots, pustules), but people with acne roseaca also experience skin flushing and a general redness of the area. These flushes can be set off by certain foods, such as spicy food and alcohol. (At least medical research and naturopathy agree on one thing here…the foods you eat do affect your complexion.)

Most Acne Treatment Medications MAY not be worth the Side Effects!

From my own experience, I am of the firm belief that most, if not all, forms of acne treatment drugs tend to actually make matters worse. Now acne sufferers will tell you: “When using an acne treatment, your acne will get worse first THEN start to get better, just hang in there while the remedy works for your acne…”Well, if you are anything like me, after months, perhaps years of seeking the right acne remedy for treatment of your pimples, the last thing you want is to see the acne increase before a decrease…right? Let’s take a look at some popular Acne treatment drugs and the side effects acne patients have had with them.

Proactiv: (Arguably the most popular acne treatment drug)

-Excessive Drying of the skin.
-Overly irritating (this in itself is all the more increased as the makers of this acne treatment product suggest you wash your face for 1-2 minutes with this!
-The amount of the Benzoyl Peroxide used for this acne remedy is (according to dermatologists and acne treatment websites) debatable. In my opinion, how about not using it at all and going natural eh? It will save the confusion, right?
-The time one has to spend using the cleanser, toner, mask, the ‘Concealer’ (especially for guys…c’mon…)

Other Prescription Topical Acne Treatment Medications:

- Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene gel (Differin), Clindamycin phosphate (Cleocin T), Azelic acid (Azelex), Tretinoin (Retin-A, Avita), Tetracycline HCL, Most people-like I did friends-develop side effects from using prescription topical acne remedy medications. Common side effects include stinging, burning, redness, peeling, scaling, or discoloration of the skin. Hey, aren’t we trying to get a smoother skin here…?!

What about Prescription Oral Acne Treatment Medications ?

For patients with moderate to severe acne seeking treatment, doctors often prescribe oral antibiotics (taken by mouth) in addition to topical medication. Oral antibiotics are thought to help control acne by curbing the growth of P. acnes and decreasing inflammation. Common antibiotics used to treat acne are tetracycline, minocycline, doxycycline, and erythromycin. Now friends, some people have side effects when taking these antibiotics, such as photosensitivity (higher risk of sunburn), upset stomach, dizziness or lightheadedness, and skin discoloration. In addition, acne patients usually have to take oral antibiotics for as long as 4 to 6 months for an effective acne treatment! 4-6 months…?! Now I don’t know about you, but that is an awfully long time to wait for an acne remedy to work, especially when a natural inexpensive alternative for treatment of your acne could give you the same results in less than 7 to 10 days…really!

External Acne Treatment Methods

-I will boldly say rid yourself of all the medications you are applying topically, especially if they are not working for you. (This applies to internally ingested prescriptions as well.)

In the words of Redfield: "Truth wears no mask, Bows at no Human Shrine, Seeks neither place nor applause, She only asks for a hearing!”, the truth in my opinion about most if not all medicines is that (and this is to give medical science some credit) they may deaden the symptoms of a disease but do not necessarily cure it. To cure human ailments they must, like any other thing, be tackled from its root and cause for optimal success.

-Commence to using only cool water on your face and ensure to rinse as often as you desire, especially before you sleep.

Acne Remedy and Facial Massaging

Wash your hands, especially your fingertips, thoroughly.

Now with your thumbs firmly gripping your jaw-line, proceed to pressing with the free four fingers the upper jaw line working from the center outwards.

Do 2-3 sets pressing firmly.

Now press the areas directly above the jaw line in the same center-going- outwards-direction firmly 2-3 times.

If done correctly you should see little specks of dead skin on your face.

In a feathery motion, pinch at the entire face for as long as you desire (1-2 minutes) using all the free fingers in firm actions grasping the skin.

Now, in a downward-scraping motion using the finger tips, rub the jugular veins located at the sides of the neck (6-8) times, and then massage the outer part of the chest right next to the armpits in a firm circular motion ensuring you breathe deeply as well. According to the Egyptians (and from my own experiences) this simple procedure has a marked effect on alleviating bags and crow's feet from the eyes and directing the flow of toxins away from the face.

Wash your hands with soap and rinse the face with cool water only-gently but firmly.

Wipe dry with a paper towel (or a towel you use only for your face and nothing else. Keep this towel in an exclusive location and wash it every other day).

Guidelines to Remember:

*Never repeat the use of a pillowcase in 2 days, always change them nightly so get 7 clean ones. Be conscious of how they are folded to ensure you sleep on the unexposed side upon unfolding the pillowcases. As much as possible, keep unwashed hands off of your face, if you must touch it, say for example, to scratch an itch, ensure to use the back of your hands.

*Try to sleep on your right side

*Wash your hair with a mild shampoo every night especially if you use greasy hair products, or use a wrap-around nightcap that covers the hair and ensure the cap is washed every morning.

*Here is a simple technique for cleaning the hair without using a lot of water. Get a shampoo from a health food store that has simple ingredients as in all-natural body products, Rub it on your hair till it foams, then wipe it off with a clean moist rag or cloth (used only for that purpose and ensure to hand wash it before each use) or as an alternative, put on a clean night-cap otherwise known as a 'do-rag', but change the pillow case and even then, keep the face as much as possible away from the case (so you can breathe freer while you sleep as well)

*If you can, visit the steam room of a gym 3-4 times a week to induce heavy perspiration or as an alternative, boil water (make sure it is cold water from the tap not warm or hot water so as not to inhale toxic chlorine during the steaming process) or better still, use bottled water. Heat it to a rapid boil then steam your face by immersing it into the pot several inches from the water and let the steam open up the pores (ensure to have a towel draped over your head). Execute this practice for about a few to several minutes or until you sweat. Now rinse off with cool water. It is suggested that you shampoo your hair after steaming the face as you had a towel draped over your head previously. Next, massage the face as was previously described and after the final rinse, you can either wipe it or allow it to air dry.

*For males, if you are of African or Hispanic descent, most barbers recommend you use electric clippers to shave. For Caucasians & Asians, I have observed that using razors might not be a problem although if you prefer, you can use electric clippers also. Ensure that you shave in the direction of the hair's growth (mostly downwards) for an after-shave, it is advised that you perform the facial massaging as well afterwards).

*In addition to alleviating acne symptoms, the facial massaging described here has the added benefit of firming up the skin and adding tone and definition not unlike costly plastic surgeries and face lifts. Consequently, such undesired features as wrinkles, spots, crow's feet, sagging jaws etc are alleviated and beauty is all the more enhanced with the systematic combination of the exercises provided and the proper diet issued within my e-book: Fitness: Inside and Out- A Guide to Improved Health, Vigor and Vitality.

Internal Acne Treament and a Proper Diet

As a suggested dietetic lifestyle, if you are serious about curing your acne and keeping it off, you must make a change in your diet and eliminate all mucus (acid) forming foods such as processed (junk) foods, fast foods, confectioneries, soft-drinks and eat more wholesome and natural foods like your fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, nuts, root vegetables, fresh juices-basically foods that are mucus (alkaline-forming) binding.

Furthermore, based on scientific research, the human body goes through a cleansing process from twelve midnight until twelve noon, and a building program from twelve noon to twelve midnight. Therefore, what is eaten during these respective periods must be harmonious with the natural processes, you will be given sufficient information on this topic for a daily diet regimen that is more in line with the healthier and safer methods of consuming foods.
