I've read the answers first before answering.
You know me a bit and you know what i am doing and why.
I think you know too living in a non Muslim country, it is hard to let other ppl know that you are having a keen interest in Islam and are seriosuly thinking if it is the 'right way' for you.
Ppl do not understand and do not know it. All they see and hear is what they see on the television and read in the media.
You know, when i tell ppl what i am doing, the first question i get is 'Are you out of your mind?? A religion that preaches hate an religion that treats women as second grade citizens?'
With the limited knowledge i have so far, i answer them as best as i can. What i do not know, i tell them i will find out for them. So far, especially telling them about women's rights in Islam and how it protects women, make ppl fall out of their chair. They just do not know and have a very wrong image of Islam.
Maybe some day ppl will start to listen to each other, maybe one day ppl will stop fearing what they do not know, maybe one day well will understand one and other, no matter what faith, race or back ground.
Untill that day, we all just have to learn to live with prejudice and ignorance and fight it as best as we can. United we stand!

First, I do not hate Islam or Muslims. I am answering your question in a spirit of good will.
The reason many non-Muslims have a bad impression is that some people are deliberately killing as many innocent civilians as they can, in the name of Islam. These persons even hide themselves among Muslim women and children, to make sure they get killed when somebody tries to take out the terrorists. To make things worse, few Muslims seem willing to publicly condemn these actions, even if they don't participate in them.
It should be obvious that deliberately targeting civilians is different from accidentally killing some while fighting armed enemies.
When Christians have deliberately targeted civilians, as in North Ireland and England, other Christians have condemned this behavior.
Many people assume the majority of Muslims are so morally bankrupt that they will support this reprehensible practice, since they do not speak out against it.
I hope that true Muslims will speak up and show that they do not condone the deliberate murder of civilians.

As an individual u may just be different than the mass majority that is publicised about islam, and muslims. What people dont like is the way they want thier religious rights, in England. What have christians got as far as religious rights in muslim countries, none. Churh of england in muslim countries, none. If you want to practice your muslim beliefs u may be better in a muslim country. Another thing you are allways winging about what u want, and who has been a the root of all this terrorism ? U tell me. If there was no terrorism, and this stupid off behaviour from muslims/islam issues, we could all lead a happy life together. We abide by muslim beliefs when in muslim foriegn countries, you lot should do the same here. It is you lot with the problems, we are not blowing you up. Yes it would be nice to be in peace and all be happy, i agree.

This is what I see. I don't really consider pointing out bad behavior as insulting and further I personally feel threatened. I could post hundreds of similar articals if I had the time. I don't say that it is about Islam, the guys who do it say that. I just believe them because there are lots of stories like this and they all say it.
Islam gave the Pope such a peaceful reception in Turkey that it is hard to accept that it is only a small part. You also gotta love the tiny rallies for Hezbola with a few hundred thousand.
I do agree it isn't everyone, but it isn't a small part either. But you are talking to the wrong people. If someone acted like this and said it was in my name, I would have issues with them. Not with the people who get the impression from that that it has something to do with the whole group when that is EXACTLY what is being said over and over.

I respect people and I am an adult. I do not think of radical Islam as a religion. I believe it is pure hate. Perhaps if Muslims denounced these terrorists people wouldn't be so quick to put down Islam. By saying nothing about radical Islam is like saying it's OK what they think or do. Who better to speak out against them than you? Or do you except what they are doing?

You may want to be equal and be in peace, but if you look around the globe, just about every war and conflict involves muslims that are attacking their neighbors. When the pope just quoted an ancient king, your peace loving brethren went berserk. Having a "convert or be killed" theology doesn't help things.
When an editorial cartoonist printed something, fires and mob violence broke out. Is "Allah akbar" supposed to be some kind of blessing? You don't hear Christians or Jews shouting "Praise the Lord!" and then blowing things up. Speaking of Christians and Jews, why is it that we are fair game for unending cartoons with pigs and animals, yet there are no riots from us.
If you just want to be equal and be in peace, you're not convincing many. A good start may be to denounce the acts of violence done in the name of Islam--the way Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson do when some extremist blows up an abortion clinic.

There is discrimination all over, not just for Muslims and Islam. Christians and Jews are hated as well because none of us are willing to take a single step backwards in our faith to accommodate the non-believer.
I agree with you in that I'm sick over the hatred between us, and I'm sure God/Allah/Jehovah is sick of it as well. It reminds me of siblings fighting over a piece of bread at a banquet set for a king.

First of all I must say that I am agnostic. I will look at the subject objectvely. I see that there are some stupid brainless people. They say Muslims kill people to advance their religion. But they forget the fact that Christians killed millions of people during crusades. Also fcking USA and son of a btch Israel go on to kill Muslims. If you have a bit of brain, you should be objective...

I only dislike the small percentage that pass judgement on others in a very violent way. I dislike religion as a whole but I accept that people have the right to believe what they like aslong as it doesn't infringe on other's rights.

Hating Islam is no different than hating any other silly religion. You are all based on a lie and have as your end goal the destruction of the world, what's not to hate?
