Keep it wiped out till you get to the vet. It is KC season and may be put on some antibiotics. Also call the vet back and ask how much Benedryl he can take. That way you can tell the vet if that helped and narrow allergies out.

Well, I have a male St. Bernard and he has had this several times. My vet said it was a eye infection. I used a warm wet rag and kept it cleaned out and around it. Then take saline solution (for contact lenses) and mixed it with 1/2 water and put it directly into his eye. He didn't like it, but that is what the vet recommended to me until they could squeeze him in.

Do this until you can take him to the vet. You will have to get a antibiotic to get rid of the infection, so make sure you make the visit. It only costed me $30.00 so it wasn't to bad. Good Luck!

I had this happen once a long time ago. It was pink eye. You can buy an antibiotic salve meant for the eyes at the larger pet stores. It is called Terramycin.

No. Do not use any "home remedies" in the eye. Just go to the vet and get it checked out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
