I find it odd that people ask for sources when the majority of people IN jail are Christian. And no, they didn't all convert while they were in there.
"I believe you will find more non-Christians behind bars than Christians, a lot more. "
Sorry RB but as I said, that's not the case. Christians make up about 70% of all convicts in US jails. Other religions make up most of the rest but atheists only make up less than 0.1%. The believers far outweigh the non-believers.

People you said to be christians but committed crimes and end up in jail are I think not real Christians in their heart because a good Christian should follow the ten commandments. Such people are sometimes abusing the very idea of a forgiving God so that when they commit sin, they think they can be forgiven thus they disregard the commandment. And this is a wrong thinking. But there are good Christians who do commit crimes for many reasons (which are unreasonable) because they are just human like anybody else.

It´s quite simple actually, it happens because of the opressive nature of christianity itself, it´s quite like the physics of an explosion, if you use a given amount of gunpowder on a bomb and you let the gunpowder loose inside of it, well, when you light it you´ll get only a nice flare of light and heat, but no explosion at all. Still, if you provide it with the right amount of pressure from the outside, if you press the same amount gunpowder shut into a pipe or something, then you´ll find that the stronger the pressure from the outside, the stronger the opression...The stronger the boom is. By this metaphore I meant that every opressive religion or philosophy has the tendency of creating a maniac in the future, no matter how naive the followers may seem, in my opinion that´s why they commit crimes. Religion sucks, just believe yourself... Thats enough to be happy.

...Have you kept an accurate count? First, how many Christians are there in the world? Second, how many have been jailed for violation of laws? Now do the percentage....
...There are some who are jailed for preaching the Gospel, and like Paul they are put in prison - so they can just share the Gospel there. God is sovereign, and sometimes sends His children to places we wouldn't.
...BTW, God never promised the believer a life of ease, or one without problems - the fact of the matter is, a Christian may have more problems than a non-Christian, because now Satan is working against him.

Firstly you have to know what you mean when you say a christian. Christianity is not about going to church, saying I believe this, I believe that. There is more to it. It is a life coming from the inside of a person hence today we have so many people who are labelled Christians and yet their hearts are as black as night.
Remember the disciples were called christains because they were like Christ.

Why do so many of them turn into Christians? O, next time look around, most of the freaks don’t believe in God. People doing drugs and have sex just like they want to… and… and… and… People are sinners just like you; with a religion they just have more control over it and were did you get your statistics? It’s totally wrong. Wake up dude before its to late. Good LUCK,

These people may claim to be Christians but have not been truly born again, so in fact they are not Christians. Some Christians have not live out their faith correctly and therefore do not know how to rely on God's grace and gift of righteousness to conquer their weaknesses. The fault is not on God's part but on those who do know how to walk their faith in God's way.

Badferret, you are a very controversial person. I noticed all of your questions are to put Christians down. Why is that??? Christians are not perfect, no one is...only Jesus Christ. Christians strive to be like Christ. We make mistakes, but asks for forgiveness and Christ will forgive us! We just can't intentionally keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

First of all, Christianity isn' t a religion. Secondly, nobody is perfect. Some people profess to be christians, but their actions just don't show it. Only they and God knows their heart.

Mental illnesses that tend to "take you away" from reality and to make you believe that you live in a fantasy world of fairy tales and legends bring a grater risk of performing illegal actions thus ending in jail.
Law is a reality. Saying :"I did it because Peter Pan, fairy Daisy, God, told me so" does not keep people out of jail. The religion excuse does not work as well as it did during the Dark Ages.
Pedophile priests and the Bishops that protect them go to jail now when the victims are brave enough to comme forward.
