That's the milk ducts enlarging preparing to make milk! It hurts like hell but is not uncommon. If you are concerned ask your Dr. at your next appointment. If it bothers you that much it is safe to take Tylenol during pregnancy for pain.
Good Luck

Hi there honey and congratulations! This is a magical time in your life and you have so many wonderful things to look forward to! The fact that your breasts hurt is one of the less than wonderful symptoms of being pregnant. I am sure that what you are feeling is the milk ducts that are being called into action so that you can nurse your baby. ( which I certainly hope you are planning on doing!). This is one of the things that you should talk to your doctor about just to be sure and so that she can explain to you what to expect. I was either pregnant or nursing over a period of about 8 years and my breasts were always lumpy. We have been taught to be so paranoid that we look at anything that resembles a lump as a potential problem. Not the case when you are preganant or nursing a baby. BTW, if you possibly can, at least nurse your baby for a little while. The longer the better. Even nursing for a few weeks gives the baby time to receive all the wonderful immunities to many diseases. I nursed all of my babies for well over a year and none of them were ever sick. It is a gift that only YOU can give your baby. Please think about it. You can always stop but if you never even try you will always wish that you had.
Take care of yourself, eat well and enjoy your pregnancy! This is a wonderful time in your life!

I'm now 13 weeks pregnant and I noticed the same bumps in my breasts when I was around 5 weeks. I thought it might be a cyst but, my OB/GYN said it was the breast tissue and that it is completely normal during pregnancy. My breasts still hurt, you should wear a tightly fitted bra.. it does seem to help the pain. Good Luck

It's normal. Your breasts are getting ready to make milk for the baby. Don't take any pain relievers unless your doctor says it's ok. When you are pregnant you have to ok all meds with the doc first.

Head to the library or book store for a book about pregnancy. They will walk you through everything you need to know. In addition use your doctor as a resource.

You need to ask your Dr these questions, don't hesitate to call whenever you need to. That is the Doctors job to answer any questions you have. Congrats on the upcoming event of the new baby.

Yea, your boobs will hurt, just another joy of being prego!!! If they hurt try taking a warm shower and see if that will help or laying a warm towel over them. Just a thought.

properly.... i imagine you ought to inform your well-being practitioner about your indications! The well-being practitioner might want to allow you to recognize some issues to look ahead to or they could grant you with yet another being pregnant try! if you're pregnant CONGRATULATIONS and function exciting with the baby at the same time as it really is born!

The best thing you can do is ring your midwife and she will put your mind at rest.

I believe it is quite common in pregnancy though.

Good luck with your baby
