Hi
I need to have a pet dog and I live in an apartment. I am thinking of Jack Russell Terrier or Silky Terrier.
Which is more suitable?

I like Silkies...I used to have one but she died of old age. Silkies are as hardy as Jack Russell and they are good pest controllers. My dearly departed Nancy used to greet me in the mornings with her new find. Sometimes, it's a rat. Other times, it's a lizard. Silkies also make better lap dogs than Jack Russells. So if you are an apartment dweller, a silky terrier would be more suitable.

Small terrier type of dogs may seem ideally for apartments. They can be very energetic and may need a;lot of attention. If you are the type of person who comes home from work and relaxes in front of the TV when a Terrier type dog is not a good choice. It may surprise you but a dog like a Great Dane or a Greyhound make great apartment dogs. Very little exercise is needed for them. If you do get a Silkie Terrier, as with any dog, Training and consistency are very important. Look for a respected trainer in your area and ask them on their opinion A good dog is a well trained Dog.

small terriers are verry hyper dogs they love to play!!!! so if u think u can handle the fact of constant play time and ur neghibors wont mind go for it...but jack russells also make good watch dogs they r verry protective of their territory and will fight other dogs no matter what the size is..so if u pick russell be carefull u dont want it to bite the wrong person

If ur in an apartment, and u plan on stayin' there, i wouldn't get a jack russel. they r so energetic, they would be miserable in an apartment, and u risk them getting run over by a car. silky terrior? that might b okay. personally, i'd get a cat.

you would possibly want to get an Toy puddle , any small breed is high quality contained in the abode . yet you heave to spend allot of time with the canines once you come back abode , bypass out for lengthy walks , play and all that . The canines won't be able to easily be locked up . And in case you do get an small canines do not go away him in an create . purely potty practice the canines an you'd be high quality .

My personal preference would be the Silky, however, please refer to these links and thoroughly research which breed would suit your lifestyle. Be sure you find an ethical and reputable breeder who provides an excellent contract and health guarantee or contact your nearest breed club, shelter, or rescue group. Good Luck!
