I have been reading a lot of questions about what Atheist don't believe like, How Jesus Christ gave his life to save you, and how you can have everlasting life, just by asking Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins. One person even went as far as writting this from the Bible."But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them". 2 Cor. 4:3&4
Some have even went on to say." Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go thereat. Because strait is the gate, and nerrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it". Mat.7:13&14

Now I ask you, have you ever heard such things?

I don't know what is the motivation behind your action of posting this question here. :)

I don't think you are a Christian, from the way you have phrased this question (correct me if I'm wrong .. perhaps you are a christian after all but just mistaken about some things :) ) .. Kindly allow me to elaborate..

It is not what people are saying about the non-believer that is important. They are not what people say. It is what the Bible says that is important.

The verses you have quoted are indeed from the Bible -- BUT they must be read in context.

The worst would be to take verses out of context and say to anyone "This is what the bible says about you!" , leaving the person angry at God or mistaken about God if the person is not interested or motivated to find out more about a loving Abba Father who cares more for them than anyone in the world.

It is NOT how God intends for his word to be used.

God meant his Word to bring life, to bring healing, and not to cast unnecessary fear.

God is a God of love. He loves us.

As in reading any document, we must read and understand it in context. Also, understanding the nature of the person who wrote or permitted it would help. ... Hence, if we sincerely seek to understand the context and ask God to help us understand Him (the Author of all things) better, we would see better.

For example, in 2 Cor 4:3-4, the verse you have quoted, the 'god of this world' refers to the stronghold of Satan and spiritual forces in this world that are not of God... The 'god of this world' does not refer to God... In the Bible, it is written that God allows (but did not cause) the evil spiritual forces to have a certain amount of reign in this world BUT that in the end God will triumph and Jesus will reign forever more... AND God did not just abandon us in this world for this period of time, but He is always watching over us ("Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" - Hebrews 13:8) and God has given us the resources we need to stand and have victory over darkness .

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9) (note that 'confession' related to repentance is a sincere desire and will to want to turn 180-degrees away from the sin ... though it doesn't mean that the confessor has to become perfect!!... just it doesn't mean a superficial or flippant 'sorry' on the lips with intention in the heart to be involved in the same sin again)

"for ALL (including Christ-believers) have sinned and fall short of the glory (perfect standard) of God" (Romans 3:23) (please click on http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%203:9-24;&version=31; to see a small section from Romans)
"and EVERYONE who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved". (Acts 2:21)

i'm no longer so constructive Atheism exist both... in my opinion, each and every human being is an agnostic. some religious enthusiast who swears up and down that he "believes" doesn't believe something. he's purely been taught to assert that. yet he himself do not believe - he won't be able to - he has no evidence. An Atheist is likewise telling you what he "believes" (ain't no god) - yet similar deal - he doesn't truly believe something both. in case you haven't considered this deity which include your own eyes or experienced it without delay, then you fairly purely "favor to believe" - like Fox Mulder on the X-information. wanting to believe isn't perception. in case you say you've faith something, and also you do not truly believe it - then that makes you a liar. likely maximum individuals do not truly care one way or yet another no matter if a deity exists or no longer... And jointly we are all agnostics. we do not recognize no matter if there is deities or no longer.... And that is genuine - we do not recognize. it would want to be much better sensible to society if we would purely drop the stupid, self-righteous religious lies and say that we do not recognize. that is continuously so a lot in good structure to bypass ahead and tell the actuality no matter if it hurts a touch.

I was born at night, but I wasn't born last night.

This isn't Yahoo! Pulpit. If you want to preach to all the "poor, lost" unbelievers, do it elsewhere. We've heard your fairytale and yes, most of us have heard and even believed such things at one time.

But we grew up. You should do the same.
