I am in a supervisory position at work....when my last girlfriend would show up late for a date, I would inform her that she had just earned a half an infraction for being late..then I would pull out the notebook I keep in my back pocket, mark it down, and hand her a written warning. If my gf did something to really anger me, I would give her a suspension, in which she couldn't see me for 3 days. And just recently was the final straw--she wanted some time apart, so I told her she was fired. I'm sorry, but I need a gf that is going to be a team player! Do you think I'm asking too much?

Barry, apparently you are the stupid one, as anyone else would recognize it a joke....try again, grasshopper...or in your case, asshopper.

Bravo!.....Finally someone that knows what's going on in the world, I think you handled this situation in an absolutely wonderful way....I wish more of my employees would listen to me, I've had to tell the mail boy twice (back in the day it would only have to be once) that if he didn't start going down on me during the company lunch breaks then he could kiss his job bye-bye.....and why did he expect me to feel sorry for him just because he has a wife & baby at home...WHATEVER....I have my own ****** up problems, I don't have time to worry about everyone elses too......DAMN IT!!!!

No. I'm sure you will find the perfect team player eventually. Your latest will find her dream job and the both of you can live happily ever after.

Instead simply firing her you should have had her write a development plan detailing clear, specific desired areas of growth and put her on a 6 month probationary period :)
