Why did you breed her if you don't have the money to take care of her?

On another note. Babies die. 9 puppies is a lot for momma to take care of. I rescued a GSD and she had 7 babies and for her to feed them all she is eating over 50 lbs of dog food a week. Momma's need a lot of food and water to make milk and your rotti with nine babies should be eating like a horse. If you think they are not getting all the food maybe you should supplement with puppy milk that you can get at the petstore. It is cheaper and easier to make sure momma is taken care of to take care of them. We just hold and change bedding for the babies momma does everything herself and she didn't have prenatal care only post partum. I would go ahead and start them on groul. Which is a messy pain but you will be able to see their food intake and make sure they are getting full.

This is why you don't undertake breeding if you can't do it right and afford to pay for medical care for everyone; money is the answer here when it comes to animal cruelty and although you may not think this it , it is. A good vet would be willing to assist for the sake of the pups even with a payment plan if you tell them that you have dying puppies. Have you really tried? Are the puppies very small; is the Mom eating enough ? drinking; are they nursing; do you know if the Mom has milk ; these are things that known from being observant. You can slightly squeeze a nipple to see if milk is coming out; are the puppies satisfied when nursing or struggling like they are not being fed ? have they gained weight; at this time, if you think that a pup isn't get enough you can make a mush of really moisten dry puppy with water and see if they are eating that; at this time, it is fine to try to some food , moisten well so they don't choke on it. Is there area being cleaned several times a day; more likely a nourishment problem and they get weak and die. Next time, think about what you are doing so the animals don't have to suffer; this a terrible way to make money. Are you worried about the puppies dying or the loss of income with each puppy.

P.S I just got a nasty email from this person who went into details about how she loves her dog and puppies and a stray dog came in the yard and how she had to just pay for her grandmother's funeral -

I understand that everyone has problems including myself whose son almost just recently died; but my concern is for the puppies and the Mom; I would beg, borrow , sell whatever I could to help my dogs and her puppies and I believe me I have; I have helped rescue dogs; donate to rescues; give food , toys etc to my local pound and have sent pads to rescues so rescued dogs don't have to sleep on pavement floors. I am doing my part now do yours ; it is a responsibility.

It could be fading puppy syndrome, it could be that the ***** has mastitis, it could be a lot of things. I would have those pups on antibiotics, like Clavamox, which you would need to get from your vet. Check her milk and make sure that it doesn't look bloody or any other wierd color. Start making a puppy mash for the pups to see if they will lap up from a bowl. You can take dry puppy food, put it in a blender with some canned puppy food, with some goats milk or even a bit of yogurt. Make this like a slurry at first for the pups to lap up. If you haven't wormed the pups yet, you should worm them and worm the ***** at the same time. Then worm them again in about 2 weeks. There is a lot to do with a litter that requires time and money.

There are too many people in this world who go into breeding with no thought to the cost, time, care, and knowledge. Reputable breeders rarely "make" money on their litters. They breed for the love of the breed and to better their chosen breed and do so only after many years of research. Your dog and those puppies need medical attention. However, since you haven't the funds to supply this it's going to be totally YOUR responsibility to try to save the remaining puppies that you brought into this world. Check the mama and see if her milk has come in, you're going to need to find some money to purchase a milk supplement and small bottles and do round the clock hand feeding. It's also imperative that the puppies be kept warm, so you'll need heating pads. Once a puppy becomes chilled it's nearly impossible to save them. You are going to have to teach the mother to care for these puppies by placing them with her and making sure they are nursing. If she can't/won't care for them you will have to be the one to do it. I sincerely hope you will find an organization that provides no to low cost spaying once you muddle through this.

go to the pet clinic! it doesn't matter about money for the little babies. borrow, steal, tell the vet to have mercy! beg! there could be something wrong with the mother or the sire of the pups. my grandma is a rottie breeder, so if the pups r cold, wrap a towel around and act like ur gently drying them off. hopefully, it'll warm em up.

Try to find a vet who will work with you on payments.
Call around. There are many out there. I am wondering if the mom is feeding them? You may want to go to your pet store and get some puppy formula and see if that helps. I am not sure that is the problem but it may be they are not getting enough nourishment. Please DO call around and find a vet though that will work with you. Also call around to the humane society and other places. It may be they can be of a lot of help in offering advice. Sorry about the puppies and hope you can find help soon.

This is so sad. Call the local humane society and see if they have a doctor who can help you.

OR contact a rottweiler rescue group near you. You can find them through www.petfinder.com. Many rescue groups include experienced breeders who might be able to help.

If you planned to sell them, please let go of that idea right now. If you do not take steps to save the pups they may all die. I would bet anything that if you agree to sign the pups over to a rescue group they will take responsibility for the pups' care. They will also make sure they have loving homes where they will receive proper health care for the rest of their lives.

I know people are going to be writing bad things about not breeding if you can't afford to take care of the mom and pups, so I'm not going to get harsh on you. I beg you, please take this lesson to heart and ask the humane society near you for a low-cost spay clinic and have your dog spayed.

Please also share this story with other folks you know who may be inclined to breed, including other people on Yahoo Answers.

Good luck.

PS You MUST contact someone to check out the pups. My friend just mentioned that if there is something wrong with the pups and you don't take care of them you can be charged with abuse or neglect in many places.

Sorry to hear about the pups but you shouldn't breed or own a dog if you can't afford to bring them to a vet! I suggest getting your dog spayed once you have the money and till then DO NOT BREED HER AGAIN!!!!!! Or you might become responsible for MORE DEATHS!!!!!! Please don't breed her again for the welfare of the lives you can't afford to take care of! I'm sorry if I come across rude but I'm just trying to get my point across!!!!

There is a possibility that your pups are not getting enough nutrition in there mothers milk so you should probably go to a coop or atwoods and get some milk that you can use like infamil for babies.
