Although cats don't get a suntan, it is possible for them to get sun burn - paticularly on their nose and ears. The problem is greatest in white cats or those with white fur on their ears and nose. My cat George wears SPF 50 on his ears and nose on days when the sun is strong! It makes his fur look a bit grubby - but it's worth it.

They don't have a lot of exposed skin to be able to get a bronzed look unless you got one of those baldy ones that look like a gremlin on speed! Cats can get quite bad sunburn however on especially ears & noses. Have known a few white cats with skin cancer on ears. Sunblock is reccomended if you have a sunworshipping feline a good human variety works well so get it slapped on in Summer...

No, but they can get sunburnt, especially if they are white. We used to have to be careful with our white cat, and make sure that he didn't go out in the sun for long periods of time in the summer, as he would burn his little pink nose and ears, and then be very upset as they peeled.

no cats cant get a suntan as they do not have melamine in there body but they CAN and do get sunburn as a result and white cats are more prone to this as they have more bits not covered in hair and lighter skin like red heads in humans they need protected with sun cream in summer as can get skin cancer with the sun
