The Gospel remains the same. God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The bible was written by the hand of man as was all other religious scritures. If people were not like sheep then the bible, the koran and all other religious pamhlets would be where they deserve to be......in the bin. You do not need a bible/koran etc to walk with God....just live with the axiom....treat people as you yourself would like to be treated. If all people adopted this there would be no war.

Look at all the wars started by main stream religion. Christianity and Islam.have caused more suffering and death than any others.

One look at the cretinous christian George W Bush and the equally cretinous Osama Bin Laden should convince people of the futility of both the Bible and Koran. Both these men are devout.....and how much blood is upon their hands?

Bible and Koran? May as well read a comic!

These answers are shite. I haven't been to mass in a while so I don't know what the exact gospel was but it was definitely one of the synoptics so either Matthew, Mark, Luke, it is probably Luke.
The way the gospels are sorted is that each year a new synoptic will be chosen as the main scripture so for ordinary mass throughout the year and John will be used in special masses Easter Christmas etc.

There is only one gospel and this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has not changed since the foundation of the world and it will never change. The Book of Hebrews says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever." As Christ is unchangeable, so is the gospel because the gospel IS Jesus Christ. The gospel in a nutshell is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He came to die for our sins so that we would not have to do so, so that we could return to full fellowship with God. Forgiveness is the core of the gospel and this is the number one lessen that we must learn---to forgive others as Christ has forgiven us. You cannot love one another unless you have a forgiving heart. God is interested in what is in your heart as well as what comes out of your mouth, for the condition of your mouth reflects the condition of your heart. A forgiving heart is reflected in a forgiving mouth.

I've pasted both the epistle and the Gospel reading. These are Orthodox. If Roman Catholics have different Scripture readings, I'll leave it to them to answer to you.
