I think decorations on a fibre optic tree can look to much go for the string bead things if you really want to put something on it but dressing it like a normal tree spoils the whole idea of the fibre optic lots of lights.

I would use clear lights - when I grew up we had real candles on the real Christmas tree. People went into the forest and cut the best tree they could find. The tree cutting was done in the morning of Christmas eve.. They had little snap-on candle holders. I don't know why I never heard of trees or houses burning. We had two white candles burning on every window sills. We always had a white Christmas back then, now it may not snow until January. Tree ornaments were made of paper cutouts and straw figures formed with red yarn. Lights out, the fresh fragrant tree with the candles burning, the straw sheep and angels in a golden glow, everyone singing Christmas carols - oh well - nothing was ever again as spell binding as that was for a 5 year old. The clear lights remind me of those times long ago. I have them on the house outside. Everything is just too plastic today so I don't decorate much for Christmas inside. Just a bunch of candles and fresh poinsettia everywhere. No Christmas tree.

I'd use silver foil shreds. You can get them in quite a few shops, just little tiny strips of silver that you put over the branches. Alternatively, what about just a star on the top? Less OTT, that way, as the coloured fibre optics are decoration enough...

The more you can fit on a tree the better. This is no time to be reserved. This is the only time you can glitz and glam up your home in anything twinkly and sparkle you like.
Add lots of baubles the light will reflect of them and twinkle even more.
You can never overdecorate for Xmas. Come on let go and have fun with it. That's what decorations are all about a celebration of Christmas.
Have Fun!!!!

You can get white fluffy garlands and lilac decorations. Try BHS they are alright for these types of things.
As for decorations for the rest of the room to go with the tree,, maybe silver and lilac!! Plenty of those around too!! Go for it, have fun and decorate away. If it does not look right you have next year to perfect it and the year after that....
Eventually you will get it the way you want it. My tree has multi coloured lights and I have gold and red decorations. Works for me!!
It's down to your individual taste!! Have fun with it and don't stress out, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

ou could try using just one colour like silver or gold, i must admit i had the same problem, when a friend gave me hers. I was so undecided,as i was so use to have one where you put your own lights on, so i put the fibre optic by the front door and left it bare so to speak and carried on using my own in the main room.

If you are going to put decorations on (you might not want to) I would go for gold I think, no other colours.
