John 3:16 says," For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
Romens 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in the heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. verse 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
My question is how do like reading the Bible this early, and do you always spend this much time reading Bible verses?

Not allot, but I am quite familiar with the above mentioned verses. Although the demands the lord is asking ARE SO extreme, I think I'll just wait on the sidelines until the last moment and just before I die, well,....... well then if ,...if all else fails , I 'll jump in at the last minute! Hey, what's the Good lord going to do, ..,.Throw me back out? NOT., I'll be a keeper!

To some Christians ESPECIALLY: YES, ABSOLUTELY. In facts, it's only after reading the WHOLE BIBLE that atheists realize that their decision not to become Christians is a logic and wise one.

You see, while Atheists (as you call us) do actually read the Bible, many, many Christians don't , as in facts they read ONLY those verses they're told to read and that conveniently serve to support the version of the story that the Church keeps telling.

Here are some verses of the Bible that may be enlightening for many, both Christians and Atheists:

GENESIS 1:26 ( the concept of the Holy Trinity came to existence only in 365 A.D. at the Council of Nicaea; nearly 400 years after the Bible was compiled).

GENESIS 3:22 (idem)

PROVERBS 8:22-31

PROVERBS 9:1

MARK 6:3

MATTHEW 13:55

MARK 10:47

MATTHEW 1:1

MATTHEW 26: 63-64

ACTS 2:30

JOHN 7:42

HEBREWS 7:14

LUKE 2:39

ACTS 24:5

NUMBERS 6:2-21

GENESIS 4:1

GENESIS 4:14

GENESIS 4:17

Should you not understand why they're enlightening, don't hesitate to let me know: I'll be delighted to explain it to you;)...Oh..and, by the way, I read also the Book of Enoch, the Book of Jasher, the Gospel of Mary, James, Nicodemus, Judah, the Gnostic Gospels and the Dead Sea Scrolls; books that everybody (religious or not) should read.

Atheists have ever you examine the Bible? * some atheist have examine the Bible, * yet another crew have in simple terms examine verses or passages the following and there. * many others do not, "I guess the absolutely reason you do not have self belief contained in the Bible is because have not even examine the Bible. you absolutely heard the different atheists' perspectives. it really is why you imagine its a fairytale because you've not ever examine the Bible." * it rather is real only for the awesome crew said above, not for all atheists. * it rather is a generalization, and gebneralizations are (mostly) incorrect. :) "First enable me be the to inform you that the Bible isn't a fairytale, the Bible is the real note of God. in case you examine you'd be full of the spirit of God. examine the Bible for yourselves and also you'll got here upon out what you've faith is faulty." * I believe you. The Bible is the note of God and able to revela the reality to all people. Pray that the Spirit of God attain those nonetheless in atheism, yet paragraph like the first one at the instantaneous are not sturdy for this purpose.

I've read it several times... as a Christian, as a literature student, and now as an atheist. Now days, I'm amazed at how Christian leaders often gloss over, or completely skip the parts that show how inconsistent or brutal the bible can be. There's an aweful lot of murder, mayhem, rape, incest, etc. in those pages! Not to mention the irrational and horrifying punishments god doles out on "his" people- even murdering children, or forcing a father to almost murder his own son.

But then, as others have pointed out, it is the bible itself that set me on the road to become an atheist.

The Bible is FICTICIOUS!!!

But let's say for a moment that it had a little truth:

If God loved this world so much, he mustn't have had much love for his son.

Senario:

You own a good farm and your only son walks around preaching to all of the sheep. You don't mind too much, but it prevents them from getting enough exercise, so their wool turns tuff and meat turns bad.

What do you do?

A - Kill your son for the sake of a few lousy sheep.
B - Move you and your son out of the farm and leave your sheep in the green pastures to flourish and breed.

Well Athiests, we all know which decision God made, if he ever existed in the first place, and we all know how stupid Christians are for supporting this decision!!

I read it occasionally. Years ago when I was a christian I read it obsessively. Now I pick it up sometimes just to browse. There are some great stories in there, along with some pretty good advice.

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Yeah, I read it. Quite a bit, and from cover to cover too. I don't need you to preach to me

I have a news flash for you. Most atheists and agnostics are EX-Christians. I read the entire Bible when I was age 19. I was born, baptized, and brainwashed to be a Christian, but escaped the cult.
