You should start waking him up earlier, put him down for naps earlier, and start all of your bedtime routine earlier (like bath time, brushing teeth, story...etc). It should become regular after a week or so!

U can start cuttin the naps out or making them shorter. Personally I learned that my son had a harder time sleepin at night if he DIDNT get a nap..bc he woudl fall asleep then wake up just a cpl hours later....so just whatever on that. Start lettin him/her play harder ...such as runnin around outside..just a lil bit in the afternoons. Then come inside and fix supper...let them drink milk with it or water..since some juices have LOADS of sugar in them. After that give him/her his bath..let them play for a while during it, then brush their teeth. After that..mine is always ready for bed within 15 minutes of the bath! You dont have to do it all BOOM BOOM BOOM ...but dont space each activity too far apart either..since its the whole routine thing that helps trigger in their brains..."HEY its bedtime". But u know, the toddler is gettin older..and is NOT goin to sleep half the day AND all nite like a younger child. If your just now tryin to establish a sleepin routine-GOOD LUCK- bc u waited so long, hes prob set in his ways! Hope everything works out the way u want it!

I would assume so. Give it a try for a week and see if he starts going to bed at 7pm again. He might be too well rested from all the napping. Its great though that he just self soothes himself to sleep and sits quietly and plays. So you may not need to change anything. Maybe putting him down at 8pm instead, having 7-8 be kind of a wind down period, soothing time with just him and you reading a story? Wind his little mind down and then bedtime? Good luck, but all kids work out not having many naps the older they get,

To adjust your child's sleeping pattern easily, start with waking your child up 15 minutes earlier than the previous morning and putting him/her to bed 15 minutes earlier...with any luck in a few days or so you will be at the schedule you want to be!!

Start with only an hour to hour half nap time. Then start laying him down at night when you want him to lay down. I just switched my 2 y/o from a 9-9:30 to an 8pm and thats it bedtime. All I did was lay her down earlier and she started falling asleep. Now at 8pm she is tired and it is natural. It took about a week for her to get used to it.

Wake him a little earlier in the mornings and cut back on his nap time or just make his nap earlier in the day. If it is still daylight when he lays down at night use room-darkening shades.

Give them less time at nap time and then do it gradually. It might be rough the first couple of times but it gets better. Luckily they cant tell time! :)
