As the previous people suggested, you need apple quick time player to open these files.
Because I really dislike this player and I think you might as well, the alternative solution is to install VLC player which can play mov files as well as almost any other file type!

I don't know why a lot of people hate Quicktime (the player that plays .mov files), I liked it so much that I now have the Pro version. Sure it can be a resource hog at times, but version7 rectifies most of that. Trust me I'm a media format maniac, Quicktime is the wave of the future(if pulled off right).

Alternatively if you feel like the others about the player, get the free BS player with the K-Lite mega codec pack (search for it) or the ACE pack.

You can use winrar to unzip zip file and loads of other formats. A few more programs you can use are 7zip or winzip but I still beleive winrar is the best choice. They work pretty much in the same way: you can compress or decompress files easily with a right-click.
The big advantages of Winrar are: it's free (it's available under a trial version that never expires) and can open all the formats: .zip, .rar, .7z / 7zip, .iso, .tar, .jar etc.
That's why I strongly recommend winrar.

Quick Time Player and VLC Media player can do it independently.However if u've used JetAudio and liked it u can get a Quick time extension that will allow u to play *.mov files using Jet Audio as well.

Dont bother with quicktime! Download VLC media player from the video lan team. It plays everthing.

.mov is Apple's Quicktime movie format. You wil have to go download it. I hate .mov files.

like everyone else says, .mov is the apple quicktime extension. it makes them feel powerful to use a less popular mivie extension to make everyone else go out of their way to get quicktime. you can get it from http://www.apple.com or http://www.download.com

try using quick time player, DivX or Realplayer. One one those should have all the codecs you need
