can i upgrade on a united flight at check-in with my lufthansa points?

Subject to seat availability of course. Some of my points are getting to be nearly 3 years old so I thought I better use them - thanks!

If you are trying to upgrade using a partner airline's points you need to call United directly before the flight. The good news about that is, you can get your upgrade in advance and have a better chance at there being an available seat. Their counter agents don't always have the right computer access to read into your Lufthansa account.
