move out and keep some distance from them. The distance makes the heart fonder. Also, if you are indian remember one thing.....you can NEVER make them happy. And if you are married, remember that your spouse comes first...not parents. You got to live with your partner, not them.

You are not responsible to make your parents happy. They are the adults. If they can't figure out how to be happy in their lives that's their problem.
If your parents are unhappy with something you are doing, respect them enough to make changes. After all, they've been through a lot more in their lives than you have. It's called experience and maturity.
If your parents are insisting that you become a brain surgeon and you want to be a professional skateboarder just realize they want what they THINK is best for you. Most parents want their children to be more successful than they are. Parents want their children to have an easier life than they had and they know it will take more effort while you're young to make life easier when you are older.

If your parents are normal parents, just don't do anything that is dangerous for you and treat them with respect; and they'll probably be happy.
Most parents want their kids to stay healthy, stay away from drugs or other potentially damaging activities, and, ideally, do well in school and get some kind of education that will let the son or daughter earn a good living.
Also, though - just a note - for many parents (corny as this sounds) you make them happy just because you exist. Honest.

Simply by doing what they tried to do for you when you were nothing but a cell in your mothers body, till she brought you up with or without your father.
I think If you look at any of the three HOLY religions ( Christianity, Islam, Jews), you will find out in the books like Quran, Bible Torah etc that what are actually the ways you should treat your parents with.
Quran clearly says that you must not speak harshly to them nor you should over ride their decisions, feed them like they fed you.
care for them like they did for you.
unfortunately we dont live in the world of morals these days.
The priorities have changed and so have the attitudes towards ones parents.
Lastly just keep them smiling, by doing small things they love.

Never break their trust on u.
Try 2 make their dreams 4 u come true that would be most happiest moments 4 them
If u seek 4 their advices if also not very necessary
Gifts like flowers etc(not necessarily very expensive)
I THINK THAT WILL DO
GOOD LUCK

i think parents really get happy on seeing our progress but there are many other things too that get happiness in their eyes.......for example u taking a little extra efort to throw a surprise birthday party it need not be a huge affair even a small surprise works wonders...........or maybe just a simple thnought of saving up some money and spending it exclusively on them would win u extra brownnie points..........it works for me...........hope works for u 2!!!!!!!

Three simple things,
1. Care for them - This includes staying out of trouble so they don't worry about you, remembering their birthday/ wedding ann, etc.
2. Spend time with them - Make sure you regularly spend some quality time with them, and are with them in their good times and bad.
3. Respect them - This includes not raising your voice at them, and handling differences delicately.
