Uniforms help stop problems with those who cannot afford the latest designer item. There is also a sense of belonging at the school when they are worn.
However unless there is a strict dress code the school will not be able to enforce the wearing of the uniform as pupils will always want to rebel - that's when the uniform is not a good idea - as the whole school tends to look rather tatty with shirts hanging out, fluorescent trainers being worn etc. That would show that the Headteacher was not doing his/her job.

Depending on situation like you said.
Uniforms promote unity and the "look alike" culture in the school which (should) lead ot better bonding between the students. As for the weather, If im not wrong, in certain countries there are different uniforms for Winter and Summer so as to still have a compulsory uniform for students without compromising comfort.

Absolutely. Not only do they give a child identity, but it helps to stop the pathetic "my lacoste's are better than your air max's" situations that have been created by no mark, would be, gang-sta types who watch far too much telly and think that wot goes down in the bronx must apply to downtown Runcorn. Keeping the kids in uniform also helps to eliminate the growing problem of truency.( It is difficult not to be noticed if you're wandering about a shopping precinct in your school wear.) One more thing, the "bring a pound to school to not wear uniform" types of raising charity should also be scrapped because it just creates more of the above. ta

Two schools of thought:
Pro: uniforms can actually help those are cannot afford the latest styles and therefore they won't have to face the peer pressure. Uniforms can also create school spirit.
Con: takes away any sense of personal freedom.
More and more schools are implementing uniforms. I wore a uniform and it was no big deal.

Yes. If we didnt have uniform we would have to buy clothes everyday so we're always wearing something different. But if ur wearing school uniform people cant judge you for the way you dress and that. Hope this helps.By

Yes, for several reasons:
1. No need to worry about what you'll wear to school.
2. No need to worry about anyone stealing your clothes.
3. No need to buy hundreds of dollars worth of school clothes.
4. No need to worry about being out of fashion.
5. No need to worry about anyone having cuter clothes than you.
Maybe I could think of more, but I think these are pretty good all on their own. <*)))><
