It's Irish for Patrick.
The most famous Padraig was probably Padraig Pearse who was the leader of the Easter Rising in Ireland in 1916.
"The poet and the Irish rebel, a Gaelic scholar and a visionary..."

Padriag is Gaelic for Patrick (usually pronounced por-rick)
It is still popular in Ireland as it usually avoids being shortened whereas Patrick can become Pat or Paddy, Padraig usually stays as por-rick. Hope that helps.
Good luck
