Men are so hard to buy for! I fully sympathise.
I think a great gift idea for someone this difficult is an experience package, or something that lets him try something new. I once know a guy who wasn't really an outdoorsy type but he got a white water rafting voucher (which let him take friends with him for a small amount) and it was a brilliant day out and gave him something to remember. It wasn't something he would have done for himself.
Have a look at outward bounds centres in your area, I bet you could get something really cool for £40 and it would be the most unusual gift ever.
Alternatively if he's a bit of a hippy you could sponser an animal in his name. I also have a friend who was given a tree in a new forest in Scotland.
Think outside the box! High street boredom begone!

How about a subscription to a magazine - that would see him through the year and you can get them from any newsagents or W H Smith and the like? Otherwise a DVD comedy collection or a good book about something he likes? If he's into gardening how about a gardening voucher? Beer, wine, brandy etc.? Good luck if he's the last present to get at least you've still got time to hunt around.

Get him a nice soft dark colored dress shirt and a bottle of cologne, something you like the smell of will be fine. I got that last year and whenever I wear them I think of her to this day. In fact i am wearing the shirt now, I really miss her.

If its anything like my dad, he was at my house whilst I was repairing his car, he had a flimsy jacket on and no gloves but he was blue. It wasn't even that cold out there. So I bought him thermal gloves and a puffa jacket which wasn't that expensive. Good luck

I took my Dad to see Newcastle United play Arsenal two years ago (took me two hours of continual ringing after ticket lines opened) , he loved that, your boyfriend could buy a ticket for him and his dad, and he would love the boys-togetherness of it too.

You could get him stuff to wash his car with or novelties for his car like crome tax disk holders, i get my dad stuff like this and he is always pleased. and no matter what you get him its the thought that counts.

He must like something! How about a nice jumper or something for his car? If it were me I'd like a book :-)
