God commanded not to make any likeness of which is in Heaven, Earth or in Water.
But Catholics made uncertain Images of Jesus, Mary etc and keep them in the place of worship.
God said He is the First and Last, Begining and End & Alpha and Omegha.
Catholics calls Mary, mother of the Son of man (Jesus called Himself as son of Man though he is the Son of the Most High) as GOD's MOTHER. Oh!! How Terrible!!
They call a normal man like You and Me (the Pope) as the Representative of Jesus and ask him to forgive their sins.

John 16 : 7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Acts 2
1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Since you believe that Mother Mary is the dwelling place of Holy Spirit, you might have never received the Holy Spirit and hence your mind are blinded by the god of this world (satan) from seeing the light of Christ the Image of God.
All the epistles are for edification of Church. Have you ever read any where in the epistles of Apostles of Christ any thing which support your justifications?
No where in the Holy Bible it is mentioned Simon Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ was the first Pope of Catholics.

Revelations 1 : 13And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Read this chapter to know Hoe do jesus Christ look like.
I am sorry if I hurt you by any of My words.
But I pray to My heavenly Father through my Lord & my Savior Jesus Christ to open your minds that are blinded by the god of this world so that you may also be delivered from the bondage.
May God open your blinded minds to understand the deep things of God through the Holy Spirit of God.

I would like to comment on the fact about Mary or the other saints being worship. They where servants of God and shouldn't be worshiped like some people do.
You can get on your knees and kiss the statue of St.Peter and still not get to heaven because Jesus is the only one to forgive you of your sins.
As for the images I too once thought nothing of it. However it is commanded that we not make any image or likeness of God in earth or the sea beneath. So after searching my own heart I found it to be wrong.
@martha I just got done reading and your right we shouldn't judge. But the bible does tell us to save our brothers from death(Translated from the hebrew word sheol which means hell).

First of all, I don't think Mary would deign to refer to herself as the mother of God. She was God's servant & did what he asked. What you write about is a contradiction. It is not the only contradiction in the bible. Read thru Ibn Adam's long winded response where he quotes God stating He will punish those who worship others to the 4th & 5th generation. Isn't God quoted as saying, "Let not the sins of the father be visited upon the sons?" I believe most of these contradictions are based upon poor translation. I don't believe God would punish people who ask for intervention from others (Mary, saints, angels) because people are not worshipping these historical figures. Instead of sowing anger thru God's words pass along the more positive message He wants us to live by. This message touches almost all religions & reaches most people.

you know it is really interesting, every religion believes that they are the best and that the rest of the people are going to hell or something of the sort,i don't think when you get to heaven ,God will ask you,Which church did you attend?or Which part did you play in the church scenario?. there are just two questions that i think God will ask you?
1- what did you do with my son ´Jesus Christ?
2-what did you do with the gifts that i gave?
the first question will determine where you will spend eternity, while the second will determine what you will do while there.about what the catholics believe should not really bother you, coz you ain't going to change them, for they believe its right, i also believe in the bible teaching
for example,if someone from another religion came and told me,that there religion is the best, you will take a lifetime to convince me, coz i am rooted in what i believe. you can argue about about the question of religion but you will never come to agreement, never.

Do the Catholics really know who is Jesus Christ; while they claim to be the real Church of Christ?
Yes. Catholics know who Jesus Christ really is.
God comanded not to make any likeness of which is in Heaven, Earth or in Water. Yes true.
But God also commanded Moses to make a bronze serpent so that when people look at it, they will be healed! (Numbers 21:4-9)
Why must a bronze serpent be made to be seen? Why not just believing alone will do? Why not just pray to God in faith and be healed. Why must there be a BRONZE serpent? WHY???
Why limit God for what He can do with pictures and images?
Because a bronze serpent is to be a visible sign for repentant believers to be saved from their sin. The Crucifix (the cross with the human figure) is also a visible sign to remind us of the great love God has for us that He gave His only begotten Son.
Why keep them in the place of worship? What do you do when you worship? You praise God right? What do you praise God for? You praise God for his love, his sufferings and many other things. So what better place to place the reminder of God's greatest act of all time if not place it in Church?
Same goes for images of Jesus, Mary and the Saints. These images often depicts learnings and values to behold. If only you understood those pictures, there are stories to be told, bibilical learnings to be learned and to be reminded.
We often see phrases and banners that has "Jesus is LORD". What will my response be? I will certainly say Amen! Hallelujah! Maybe I'll even understand that if I have any problems, I should pray to Jesus because he is Lord. Maybe before I do anything I will put Jesus first because he is Lord over my life....etc
But when I see a Crucifix (with the figure of man on a Cross), this is what goes in my head. The first thing that I see is the sufferings of Christ that he went through for my sins. Next I ask myself, am I able to do the same? Am I able to love as Christ loves? I mean think about it, Christ loves us so much that he is willing to die on the cross! How can I love today as Christ loves? Well, it doesn't have to be extreme, it can be just a small gesture to smile. These thoughts carry on and sometimes, it will be a helping hand to those who lacks the minimum clothings, food and shelter.
Didn't Christ wants us to love God and to love our neighbours?
So, does it really matter whether is there an image of Jesus or Mary in the Church if it prompts Catholics to follow God's commandments to love?
Why limit God for what He can do with pictures and images?
Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is GOD. To acknowledge that Mary is the mother of God is to acknowledge Christ's divinity as GOD. Therefore if Christ is not God, then Mary is not the mother of God.
Do you understand what I am saying?
Therefore in the end, what matter most is How much do you want to love God? If you love God, then you will love your neighbours.

Being a follower of Jesus Christ makes up the bride of Christ. Members will come from all denominations not because of that denomination but because of faith and obedience to the commandments of Jesus. Don't try to make judgements. That is for Our Lord Jesus and those are His Words. Just love Him and keep His commandments and you will not have to worry about Catholics.

if i was adopted and didn't know my real parents .....
would it be so terrible i get an artist to make an impression of what i believe them to be like , simply to focus my love on ?
this is the same as statues etc of Jesus in my opinion ... and in no way wrong
and they give Mary the respect she deserves as the mother of Jesus ... and speak through her to reach her son ... again i see nothing wrong with this .... they do not worship Mary
and every religion gives respect to their ministers/priests etc as representatives of God .... again what is so wrong with that ?

Oh the wicked web we weave questioner.
I've already dealt with several of your misconceptions on Catholicism in other threads see my answers page.
I'm hoping you'll be open to this explaination so as to not ask the same question again.
the meaning of Mother of God: All marion doctrine starts with......Jesus of course. This title was given Mary at the 3rd Christian council of Ephesus (you know that same place Paul, John and Mary all visited and lived) Ephesus you know that place in the bible just in case you claim to be a 'bible believer'. Mary is called Mother of God because certain heretics were instructing believers Jesus was only man like the JW's, SDA, Jews and Muslims of today do. Mother of God is a direct relation to the mystery of the incarnation, you do know what incarnation is?
The mystery of the incarnation is the Christian believe that God took on flesh and became man, Jesus. To deny the title of Mother of God is to deny Jesus is God it is as simple as this.
Now of course if you are a Jehovah Witness or Seventh Day Adventism or follower of Judaism or Islam than you will deny this title because you deny Jesus is God but if you claim to be Christian you had better rethink your position and your mockery.
Jesus is God so Mary is Mother of God deny one you deny the other also. Be brave, be bold study Christianity further back than Martin Luther who by the way also called and wrote Mary was Mother of God as did Calvin, Zwingli. In fact all first Protestants understood, believed and taught Mary Jesus' mother was Mother of God.
In the words of one of the greatest Protestant converts to Orthodoxy;
"When one becomes a student of history, one ceases to be Protestant" Cardinal John Henry Newman,
once great orator and preacher of the Church of England and now eternally blessed fully Christian
I had to re-read your question again because the utter stupidity just amazes me. To ask if Catholics really know Jesus and than attack the title of Mother of God really proves just how ignorant you are nevermind what you think all Catholics to be. In know the origins of the title of Mother of God there is never any doubt as to who Jesus is. there is an saying, 'it is better a fool keep his mouth closed than open it and remove all doubt'

>>>God commanded not to make any likeness of which is in Heaven, Earth or in Water. >>>
Not exactly. God commanded not to make such likenesses for the purpose of worshipping them.
But read Exodus 25 and 26. In those chapters, God commands the Israelites to make all sorts of images to be used as aids in worship. Not as objects of worship, of course, but as aids in worship.
>>>But Catholics made uncertain Images of Jesus, Mary etc and keep them in the place of worship.>>>
Again, read Exodus 25 and 26.
Plus, the fact that these things are in our place of worship does not mean that they are objects of worship.
Protestants have windows and pews in their places of worship -- does that automatically mean that these things are objects of worship, just because they are found in the place of worship?
>>>God said He is the First and Last, Begining and End & Alpha and Omegha.
Catholics calls Mary, mother of the Son of man (Jesus called Himself as son of Man though he is the Son of the Most High) as GOD's MOTHER. Oh!! How Terrible!!>>>
Calling Mary the Mother of God in no way negates God's status as the Beginning and the End.
Jesus is God. Mary is Jesus' mother. Therefore, Mary is Mother of God.
To deny this is to deny the hypostatic union -- the fact that Jesus is one divine person with two divine natures. As opposed to two different people, one with a human nature and one with a divine one -- this is not part of orthodox Christianity.
>>>They call a normal man like You and Me (the Pope) as the Representative of Jesus>>>
Yes, because that's what Jesus called Peter, and by extension, all of Peter's successors. See Matthew 16.
>>>and ask him to forgive their sins.>>>
We only ask God to forgive our sins. He does this in many ways -- and one way He does this is through His "stand-ins" on earth, His priests.
Jesus told the apostles, "If you forgive men's sins, they are forgiven; if you hold them bound, they are held bound."
Jesus empowered them with this authority.
He did not, however, empower them with the ability to read minds -- so, there's no way the apostles (which includes today's priests) could know which sins to forgive or hold bound unless the penitent TELLS THEM.
