when we have a lot going on in our physical lives ... our 6th sense so to speak , takes a back seat
it wont ever go away ... its like riding a bike
but we do have this life to lead and so many obstacles to overcome
once that is dealt with , then we may aquire our 6th sense more clearly again

No it's never lost permanently. Sometimes it goes away for a time. It's a little like a muscle, you have to cultivate it. When there is a situation in which you cannot tell intuition apart from wishful thinking, usually there's some work you need to do emotionally, but also usually it's not wishful thinking.
