Why do convicts on death row who are killed by injection have to have steralised needle?

potential organ donation, if you infect the organs with something then the convict serves no purpose to the world.

That's a good question. I think it's because if they don't sterilize them then the one they used it on before could've had something used as a cure.I don't know really.
