If they do not allow the Pope, all their aspiration for getting into the EU will "pop". Isn't this simple common sense ?

yes he did some hateful remarks and a large amount of people did some demonstration about pope's visit to turkey
but pope's coming is related to another reason
he came because of the patriarchate invitation
so it means the meet of two leaders for improve the relations and to ensure the peace between this two religion
and it a good thing that it happenned in the lands of a muslim country
and also some can think it's ironical that it happenned in the lands of a muslim country after pope allegations =)
and islam says all religions are fraternal
so that was the thing that muslims should do

The Pope is going to Turkey for three main reasons:
+ A pastoral journey to the Catholic Church in Turkey, with its various ritual expressions (Latin, Armenian Catholic, Syrian Catholic, Chaldean).
+ An ecumenical journey to the Eastern Orthodox Church with a meeting of prayer and dialog with the Patriarch, His Holiness Bartholomew I.
+ A journey of interreligious dialog with Islam, the predominant religion in Turkey.
With love in Christ.

It just shows as hateful as the new pope can be against Islam the Turks can rise above that and allow him to visit. So they are not stupid but worldly and intelligent. They could teach the pope a thing or two.

The Pope didn't make hateful remarks against Islam. He quoted something someone else said.
