Why settle at all? Don't you think more of yourself than that? What is the purpose to accept failure and pass on searching for true chemistry that stays a lifetime. Seconds are not satisfying in the long run. After the second best relationship is over. (Why wouldn't it be, you will always think about what could have been),
you retrospectively have wasted time away from number one. Find them first for a truly rewarding experience. Good Luck and Get Busy

Never would i settle for second best if i cant be number one then i much rather be single. Call me selfish but a relationship is between two and if someone cant commit to just being with just me then I'm better of alone.

Probably not. I like being single.
I don't do well with commitment at all though... My fear is that I will commit to a perfectly good person and then someone better will come along and I'll break that commitment...
So I just don't make any promises at all... not the best way to live by some peoples standards but it's honest.
Besides, I find that a few good friends can keep you busy enough. People CAN and DO survive without going off into the sunset with someone. And many of those who have gone into the sunset have returned by sunrise the next day.

It would sound rediculous if i say that I would remain single throughout my life because sex is one of the inevitable needs of our body...
Now someone will think he/she may prefer to fulfil those desires then again those ways will lead to stress and so will be choosing the second best...

No not at all. If i can't have the person that I really really want then I will be single, I'm not going to have sloppy seconds when I know that my heart really isn’t in it, that’s not fair on me or the other person

no way, too many people do because society says that marriage , 2 kids and a dog is the norm and the way you need to go to succeed. this is the reason for the divorce rate in western society. having said that i probably would once i hit 55 - 60 yrs old, its much harder to hook up then and with out much time left any company is good company...

Be yourself. Have fun. Take what you get and enjoy it. Don't worry about tommorow. Let the other person make the first move. And the last move. A good relationship, friendship, whatever. If you both want to be serious, good! If not be friends! Be happy with yourself first! Love yourself, take care of yourself. And someone will love you much more seriously.
Everybody is normal till you get to know them :)
