I don't think you should be ashamed of a part of your personnality, better understand where it could come from, why are you acting like that, in which purpose. Try to understand your scheme of thinking. All is a matter of harmony and to reequilibrate yourself you have to fight bad schemes of behaving by the opposite ones, but at first try to understand why you are behaving like that, when you'll find that finally this behaviour has no real justified roots you'll go easier.
Was just a personal thinking, i'm not a pro, ask a psychiatrist maybe, no shame to ask pro.

personality traits are difficult to eradicate but if you are very much aware of them and it appears they are causing problems for you then stick to a good therapist develop a more better insight and go for it. Remember nothing is impossible. you can do it. you will feel so proud of yourself.

Wow, that's a good question. I'd like to know too. I have things that I hate about myself that I can't help.
To avoid the parts of me that I hate, I just try not to talk to too many people that might get me that way.

I think so. Personality traits are essentially just habits. It takes effort, though. You basically have to rewire yourself.
