good question. i ve always wondered the same. and what made sense to me is this; everyone will be judged according to his specific circumstances and knowledge and various other variables. i say leave it to Him. God is merciful and fair.

im a christian by choice...but not a fundamentalist..so his may sound odd...it is my sincere belief that most of the world ( at this time is deceived ) their religions and dogma do not follow Gods word as much as it does tradition...and the bible says in revelations that the world is deceived...that is why there are so many religions and all of them want to be right...and they probably believe they are...some see God as a great punisher waiting for us to mess up so he can send us to some hell to pay for our sins...and others believe He is this great benefactor that loves us regardless of how we act or what we do ....and the truth is probably somewhere in between... the Word says that every person will eventually know the truth and every knee shall bow before God and His Son...and believe it or not--even after knowing the truth some will still reject the Father and His Son... they will be destroyed and their very memory wiped away... my advise trust in your Father and seek the truth and you will find it

Actually, we have the choice to abandon the faith of our family.
To say that we have no choice is to deny a fundamental fact of life: that we actually do have a choice.
I mean, if I lived how I was raised, I would be a child beater, adulterer, liar, coward, and so forth. This is what I was taught. But having realized it to be wrong, I chose a different path. Are you saying that if I had "helplessly" become a child beater, adulterer, liar, and coward that it would have been okay in the eyes of God, since my parents were these things?
Try not to view life so fatalistically. When you realize you have choices, you will become freer.

God tells us in the bible to preach the gospel in Matthew 28:19, and Acts 1:8.This is the reason Christians always want to spread the gospel. If you choose to follow another faith, when God finds you guilty on judgment day, saying "but I didn't know!" isn't going to work. You had your chance and chose to reject God, and Jesus' sacrifice.

The Bible says that every person in every nation will have a chance to know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ before they die. It will be up to the individual to choose to follow or not to follow, so there will be no excuses. I only pray that all will follow.

if you are wrong then it will be to late when a person go's to hell there is no coming back. I'm saved by grace and not by works it's because of what Jesus did for me on the cross when i saw Jesus on the cross i saw my sins hanging there.

A loving God would understand. However, most people chose to worship a God that will punish and destroy them if they screw up, not a very healthy way to grow up, that's for sure.
Peace.

I think God would understand that I tried my best to be a good person, and He would take my intentions to heart, not my actions.
