Many Christians will tell you many things.
By your statement "I myself respect any religion as long as you do the right thing and it makes you happy",you have made it very clear you are a spiritual person. One does not have to believe in God as the Bible teaches to be a good person and a spiritual one.
If you are agnostic I'm sure you don't really believe in hell. The only hell that exists in my personal interpretation is the one we create for ourselves here in earth.
I agree too, that we should respect each individuals religion and belief . Since this is the "information century" there is no excuse for people to think they are doing others a favour by teaching them Gods word, that being the word and God they believe in and thier interpretation of it.
Ive asked many questions ,hoping to get an answers that explains my queries,it is so frustrating to have pages of bible quotations given to you as the answer(?) If I had not read the bible and studied the theology I would not have the question. So now I don't bother to ask,and in a way that is sad.

It is SIN that condemns people to hell. What is SIN?
1Jo 3:4 ¶ Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
So, according to the Bible, SIN is transgression of God's law, the 10 commandments.
It is lying, theft, adultery, blasphemy, idolatry, covetousness etc.that condemns the sinner. The Bible affirms this:
Eph 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
The Bible tells us that it is " because of THEESE THINGS " that the wrath of God comes upon the sinner.
The good news is that Jesus took our punishment upon Himself so that God can pardon us IF we put our trust in Him. Then He rose from the dead, defeating death and the grave. If a person will repent, and place their faith in Jesus alone, that person's sins are washed away and there is nothing to keep them out of heaven.
But, there is NO OTHER WAY for a person's sins to be forgiven.
Therefore, an atheist, agnostic or a person of ANY OTHER religion is still left in their sin. And I don't care how "GOOD" one may think oneself to be, we both know that there is no-one who is sinless. (Except, of course, Jesus)
So, in God's eyes, the only "right thing" to do, is to believe.
Jhn 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Jhn 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

No. That is where many Christians do err. There is only one thing in the Bible that condemns someone to hell.
If you reject the payment for your sins (Jesus Chrsit) as your savior and Lord you will spend eternity in hell.

It says in the New Testament that everyone who wants everlasting life must be born again. You have to repent your sins to God and then accept Jesus as your saviour. You are then judged by grace instead of the law. This is not my words, but the words of God in the Holy Bible.

Ok.....Christians believe that to go to heaven you must accept Christ as your Savior.
Romans 10:9-11
If you confess with your mouth,'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with you heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with you mouth that you confess and are saved.
So to answer your question it is not whether or not you are of the same "religion" as we are. It is whether you have accepted Christ as your Savior. That does not mean I would accept all of your "religions" beliefs are right.....but then all of my "religions" beliefs are not right either in my eyes anyway. The real root of it all is your relationship with Christ.....not where you go to church!
Hope this Helps

There are a lot of different kinds of Christians with different answers. The best way to get such an answer is to look to the original, consistent, historic church, and see what they say.
Protestantism sees man as being so depraved, he deserves to be punished. Even the nature of your question reveals that you have had Protestant influence on your perceptions of being "condemned to hell" by Christians.
Belief in God is not a requirement to respond to His grace. God does not need your faith. Matt. 7:1-3 - we are not judged just by faith, but actually how we judge others, and we get what we have given. Hence, we are judged according to how we responded to God's grace during our lives.
Human nature is made in God's image. It is fundamentally good. But the union of human nature to a supernatural soul had been disordered by the fall of man. Men are not sinners by nature but as an accident of our current circumstances in which we are born lacking sanctifying grace. It is this grace that allows us to integrate all the parts of a human nature into a living being that reflects the 'imago Dei.'
An atheist or agnostic can reflect this "image of God" without ever entering a church, or following the evangelical formulae of "getting saved".
Sir. 35:19; Luke 23:41; John 3:19-21, Rom. 8:13, 2 Tim 4:14, Titus 3:8,14, Rev. 22:12 - these verses teach us that we all will be judged by God according to our deeds. There is no distinction between the "saved" and the "unsaved."
Matt. 25:31-46 - Jesus' teaching on the separation of the sheep from the goats is based on the works that were done during their lives, not just on their acceptance of Christ as Savior. In fact, this teaching even demonstrates that those who are ultimately saved do not necessarily have to know Christ. Also, we don’t accept Christ; He accepts us. God first makes the decision to accept us before we could ever accept Him.
Matt. 25:40,45 - Jesus says "Whatever you did to the least of my brothers, you did it to Me." We are judged and our eternal destiny is determined in accordance with our works.
But personally, I have no idea why you would deprive yourself of the means to much grace.
