I don't now The Coffee Bean, but Starbucks bought Seattle's Best. They'll probably wind up as the same thing eventually.
I love Starbucks, but I hate their penchant for the exposed, industrial-style ceilings. They make it so LOUD in there! Also they often have so many table crammed in that you can't walk through.
Never noticed any issues with lighting or temperature.

As a born and raised Seattlelite I'd have to say Seattles Best for 1.2.&3., but for coffee, Starbucks. The Bucks can be too sterile at times whereas I find Seattles Best to be more soothing. Of course the Bucks always has good music, which is hard to beat as well as having the wifi. Tough decisions deserve tough answers. lol. be well, Jack

Starbucks rules all. (Especially since it owns Seattles Best) Coffee Bean's atmosphere is pretty lame. Not very inviting. Starbucks are generally always pretty chilly inside, but just bring a sweater and you'll be fine.

Starbucks is the best on your list. I'm not familiar with The Coffee Bean. But I abhor Starbucks' pastries. Every single one I've tried has been stale when you buy it.

we don't patronise Starbucks because of the fact they have a coverage of refusing to serve our uk squaddies in uniform. never seen a coffee Bean institution, yet i could could desire to go with that.

The little independent coffee shop tucked into a corner of a back street, the kind you can walk past all the time and never notice until someone points it out to you, where the pastries don't rival the size of your head.
