i fished on a charter boat out of pearl harbor.anyways , the belly lies between the anus and the lower meeting of the gills basically . the belly is sometimes used for bait , often the belly of tuna will harbor parasites, so before eat tuna{ahi/aku....}raw , the belly is removed and cooked.=D there are a few ways to remove the belly ,i always gut the fish 1st. then rip out fillets from tail to gill ,then looking at the meat side of the fillet, you should see the belly lining. i use a "j" cut to remove the belly.
