It takes practice. But the moment you catch yourself thinking something 'bad' or negative - stop yourself and change it for its happier alternative - believe me, it works. You just have to get into the habit of changing your thought processes..

You've been given some great advice. Also remember to stop thinking in the past. It's gone and there's nothing you can do to change it anymore. Think in the present because it's the only time you truly have power over.

Give yourself a pat on the back once in a while. We tend to let guilt over past errors or problems colour our opinion of ourselves and many people, when they do something wrong or cause an accident to happen, reprimand themselves harshly by saying things like, "Man! I'm such an idiot! How could I be so stupid?"

Would you be that critical to a relative you loved? Then cut yourself some slack and don't be so hard on yourself.

Find at least one thing to laugh about each day. Keep adding the number of times you need to laugh at life. Try to make others laugh. Laughter is like medicine of the soul.

little by little.

make an effort to think postitive, and then you will learn gradually that thinking positively will improve your life, and as better and better things happen to you, your thinking will be even more positive, and the spiral will go up from there.

so there won't be any huge leaps forward anytime soon, but you can work at getting yourself into better habits now.

Find something you enjoy doing, and build your life around it.

Turn off all things negative, and there are plenty to go around.

Just keep thinking positive, and eventually, all the negativity gets washed away.

It works for me.

Don't think. Laugh more and get out of the house. Get a social life and engage in creative and recreational activities.
