I've been smoking since Eisenhower was in office, and I don't have one damn health problem yet. So why do I have to keep hearing from these crybabies who want to belly ache about what I'm doing to myself? I remember when you used to be able to smoke in McDonalds. Smoking doesn't cause cancer the sun causes cancer. If you don't want to breath second hand smoke then stay home hippie. What do you think?

Ok, so you are in the minority here- along with my aunt who smoked well into her 90's (she's almost 101 years old now). However, have you thought about what the effects of second hand smoke can do to other people? I have to stear clear from my cousins home (both are chainsmokers)- who I love much but I've had to take my daughter- who has asthma to the ER (after a visit to their house).
I'm glad so many places are getting smokefree and I feel like it's rather selfish of people who want the smoke to stay when it's affecting the HEALTH of OTHERS.

I quit smoking two days ago and I could care less what people do. I hang around people that smoke everyday and I don;t give a shiit.
I had to quit. I had problems breathing after two packs going on my third before lunch time.

I've been on many sides of the issues as a non-smoker, smoker, 12 year former smoker. (I'm ashamed of all the people I tortured by my own public smoking.)

And now as a mother of an 5 year old asthmatic who is triggered by smoke -- smoke like what we walk through getting into a grocery store, Walmart, or restaurant

I also have friends who smoke, and family who smoke inside their homes so I don't "hate."

But in public places it would be *nice* for my sick child to be able to be as safe as possible since smoking is a choice unlike many other life-hazards. Heavens knows my child doesn't have such a choice.

second hand smoke my ***, most of the people bitchin about us smokers are the ones driving around in 80k$ hummers pushing out more carbon dioxide in 1 mile than a smoker produces in a lifetime, the truth is , if your going to ride around in your expensive oversized suv, then im going to be the one blowing smoke in your face when you get out of your car, and for that matter , i understand that some people actually have allergies , and i have no problem butting my smoke out until they are gone, but dont criticize me for smoking, seriously , there are child molesters, murderers, bank robbers, and wife beaters that get more respect than your common smoker anymore, if you have a problem with my smoke , if you can move somewhere else , i would suggest you do it , because im not , ill be damned if im going to lose my right to smoke , and for that matter ,ill be damned if the person telling me to put out my cig , is the same person driving down the street in the 8mpg carbon-dioxide factory

please , get the hell off my back

I'm hear to tell you........I QUIT 5 1/2 years ago. I am so glad and proud that I don't have to go around with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth at 68. We can't all stay home. That's what I think!

Well, for one I'm highly allergic to cigarette smoke. So, you can do whatever you want to yourself and that is your right, but when it affects my health then there is a problem. It's a matter of common courtesy. I don't think you would like it if I passed gas in your direction so don't blow your smoke at me.

Smoking isn't good for you but I do agree with you in that society has gone way overboard with the whole thing. In New Jersey you can't even smoke in bars anymore......I think that's probably one of the most ridiculous laws in the history of lawmaking.....it's like saying you can go to the beach but you can't swim in the ocean.

I have to walk by smokers to get to class and I am allergic to smoke and it causes a bad reaction. Where are my rights. Smoking costs me a lot of money and pain and I have never smoked.

Thank you,It's about time someone said something to stand up for smokers. I believe in personal choice.I chose to smoke so if you don't like it you move, personal choice.
Health wise though I think you must be one of the lucky ones.
