What is this that i've been hearing about Ambien creating memory loss? I only take the pill maybe once a week sometimes twice a week. What's the deal? Should I switch to a different sleeping pill?

Your dosage and right intake of Ambien will probably not give you any such side effect as memory loss. That is a rare adverse effect of Ambien ( Lorazepam) and usually occurs only in patients, which take the highest possible dosage of it, or they are at the same time on other medications, such as SSRI antidepressants.
Hope that is of help.
Have a great day!

I notice slight memory loss with Ambien, have not tried rozerem. Not everyone gets the side effects listed. Maybe it is the right one for you. Do you take it every night? Try half the dose. It works for me.

Ambien can cause memory loss. There have been documented reports of patients taking this medicine doing strange things like cooking and eating in the middle of the night with no recollection of it the next day. People have driven places and not remembered it, or had phone conversations and not remember it. You should ask your doctor to change your prescription if you are experiencing any of this.

Try not to use any sleeping pills. I have to someties for pain. everyone has some side effect even some natural helps. but switch across to the natural side of this help since the balance of the natural is better. try valerian tea or St John's wort as a start, they are also done in tablet or capsule form.
To help banish the anxiety that may cause insomnia, try a combination of California poppy , hawthorn and hops. or for high stress 2 parts of camomile, lavender, lemon balm and linden with one part of orange peel. you can use as a bath or tea, i sometimes use a mixture in a small made herbal pillow that you sleep on, it is great to go to slep with that smell, you can buy these pillows already made up from some leading heath stores or a well known major chemist.sleep well
