Try melatonin pills. Melatonin is a natural OTC sleep aid...it's what your body naturally produces that makes you sleepy and sensitive to light late at night. Take 3mg of this about 30 minutes before bed, and you'll sleep soundly.

If you can, put your radio on some soothing music...not too loud. Falling asleep to something that's enjoyable helps you to relax. If you can't do that, maybe you can find one of those "white noise" machines...the kind that makes ocean noises & trickling waters. Those are very relaxing. Put a fan on low. This circulates the stale air that often builds up at this time of year. Plus, it gives you some "white noise" to focus on. Dab a little Vicks Vapo Rub under your nose. It's a soothing smell, and may help you breathe a little better. Find an extra pillow to throw your arm around, or get a body pillow...one of those long pillows that you can throw your arm and leg over, keeping your whole body in a straight line. I usually read for about a half hour before bed, giving my brain & body time to adjust to being quiet. Read something that won't keep you up (no scary books or thrillers). Hopefully, one, or a combination of a few of these, will help you get a great nights' sleep. <*)))><

I hope this tips can help you.

1. If you have a problem in your mind, please settle it down. sometimes thinking about a problem may lead to insomnia.

2. Avoid to eat sugar before sleeping (that is what my Mom always told me).

3.Make sure that you are in comfortable condition before you go to sleep.

4.Start sleep at the same time every day ( just to make sure that your body clock in a good condition.)

5.I guest this is the most important thing. Set your mind to sleep 6 hours by say to your self, "I will sleep for 6 hour", before you go to bed.

There is no guaranty that these tips are working. but it is working for me, and I hope these tip can help you. Have a nice sleep.

The computer will keep you awake... something about the light from the screen. Instead of watching tv or going online, read a book. Drink warm milk with vanilla in it. The vanilla has a high alcohol content so one drop should help you sleep. When you're lying in bed try focusing on tensing then relaxing every muscle in your body one at a time. You will start to feel relaxed and heavy.

get into a routine...eat your supper with no caffine........a warm shower/ bath....sit and watch tv for a while.....cool the house a bit...put the thermostat to 65.....have clean sheets.....turn off all the lights....get in bed......turn on a small fan near your head not blowing on you....it drowns out car horns and barking dogs......take two tylenol.....sip some milk and lay still ....do this over and over at the same time every night.....You might have to start with a sleeping pill or benedryl. ...think nice thoughts...a lake with a mountain stream.....a field of swaying wheat......clouds floating slowly by.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

you might want to look into a new bed or matress and you probably had something that helps you stay awake like coffee during the day, you should excercise and then would sleep because you are tired. if you dont absolutly have to then dont take sleeping pills because its trouble some once you get addicted

- A shower helps me before bedtime.
- Nyquil, or Tylenol PM can knock your happy a** out in a hurry.
- Stay away from sugary drinks at least 2 hours before bedtime.
- Stay away from food at least 2 hours before bedtime.
- ... and last but not least, and this sounds corny but it works. If your able too, have sex before bedtime. It's a sure fire way to fall asleep afterwards. :-)

If it is an outcome of mental anxiety & disorder...consult a doc and have some sedatives....or best way to submerge into deep sleep is to count the sheep.
