In view of her pre term labour, she is adviced complete rest till delivery. I would like to know approximately how early are there chances of her delivery. In such cases, will it normally be vaginal delivery or caesaerian ?

Well she has made it this far, most woman with a uterine septum (also known as seperate uterus) miscarry in the 1st trymester. So yes completebed rest w/ no lifting over 8 oz. A baby has a chance of survival at 24 weeks, But she needs to try and make it to at least 30 weeks for better survival. All the adveradge delivery weeks gestation I came across were between 27 to 29 weeks, some do go closer to full term though. Make sure she has the septum removed as soon as baby is born it will be easier than a seperate sergery. Also ask her OB if she can now see a high risk specialist, along with taking a tour of the NICU at the hospital & speak w/ a neonatolaogist for their predictions & what to expect from baby, her OB should be able to put you in touch w/ souch people. One last thing make sure the hospital she will be delivering at has a great not good but great advanced NICU, if not see if she may be able to deliver at another hospital due to cirrumstances, Good Luck!

I think the week of delivery is unpredictable as well as if the birth will be via vaginal or caesaerian. This is true for all pregnancies.

Just focus on getting through each week. I know this is tough, but you both can do it and it sounds like you both are doing all you can to ensure the health of your fetus.

I know it is hard to not worry, but take care of yourselves, follow the midwife/doctor's orders and cross each bridge when you get there. All will be well and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Take care and keep everyone informed.

it is possible for anyone to go into pretrem labor. I did at 25 weeks withmy daughter. but if your wife is advised complete bestrest than complete best rest is what she needs. Believe me!! My daughter being born at 25 weeks was very... well not good.. She did make it. She is now 2, has some problems still ad spent 4 months in the hospital but it is very possible for any baby after 24 weeks to survive but I advise you to keep her OFF her feet until she goes into labor!!

Hope this helps!

Only her doctor can say for sure.

My sister-in-law had this problem and after 5 or 6 months of bed rest, delivered vaginally.
