Lets think about the general level of distrust people have for each other these days, and the pervasiveness of the bloodsucking media. If Jesus were to really be reborn again, would anyone buy into his message or his miracles? Would he be able to inspire new hope? Would the Pope/church condone his actions and existence? (I'm playing devil's advocate here; I want to hear both sides).

Good point. I feel that it would be extra hard for people to believe in him these days, what with so many scientific advances declining faith. Only a few would, but mainstream society might misjudge them as a cult. Others will be disappointed when they see he wasn't blonde and blue eyed (come on, he was born in the Middle East!) Which makes me wonder, would he come back in the same body or incarnate (not reincarnate these are different things) in a different body? WOW, you really got me thinking on this one, great question!

I'd hate to answer in a jocular way, but hey, I think I can add some funny in here somewhere... Yeah, I think intolerance levels nowadays are pretty high, so I think he'd have a very difficult time winning over people to his side of the tracks. Also, I think a lot of people would just think he was a new magician... like if he nowadays turned water into wine, you'd get half the crowd screaming, "OH come on! We've seen better than that by David Copperfield and Chris Angel!"

Really though, not sure what would happen. I think lots of people would be (just as they were back then) very skeptical. Even if he "looked the part", "acted the part", so on and so forth. Then you would get plenty of his faithful servants, who would believe him no matter what he did or didn't do. So it's hard to say really, I think just like with politics, you'd get quite a bit of polarization as to believers and non-believers.

Well, in answer to your first question, He's not dead...He IS alive! Only many have forgotten that fact and are living any way they please. There's no Godly fear any more. And that's sad. Now, if He were to come back and do a re-do of His first time here, I think many would continue living as they have, and Him being here would have no effect. And with others, He would make a big difference in the way they live their lives. I firmly believe that many who call themselves "the church" would ask Him to leave, as His blood might mess up their fancy carpeting...and His clothing is not appropriate for the Sunday crowd. Of course, that's just MY opinion. <*)))><

There is a great book called "Illusions-The adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" by Richard Bach. This is all about Jesus being born in holy land of Indiana. LOL You will love it. Yes I would love to meet the guy in person on earth. I would hope he would become my teacher.

If he did now, what he did then, then absolutely. I would have no reason to believe he would do it different, or much different. His actions, and sinless life, and loving nature, make him totally trustworthy. If people somehow see Jesus as a threat, THEN they see him as untrustworthy, and someone to be killed, just like back then.
Funny part of your question though, he IS alive today, and EVERYone, if not now, later, WILL have to decide whether or not to trust him. Remember...EVERY knee will bow...every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord......

He would have being branded as a complete nut case and ignored by everybody!

...............anyway he was a nut case back in the old days too......... and one of the biggest con-artists of the day..........and that's why the Romans caught him & nailed him to a cross!

Nice Romans...............they must had being 'culturally' sensitive to his followers..........otherwise they would have thrown him into an arena and let the lions tear him apart!

Well......if he could walk on water........ part the ocean........ multiply fish into hundreds...........and change water to wine......... he could've changed the lions into pussycats...........& rewrote the fantasies the world had been hearing!

Sure if Jesus appeared and presented himself in a dignified and respectable way. If he was convincing enough to convey himself to me I would believe in him , no problem. Then, I would sit his @ss do wen and let him know that before he was going anywhere , he had some explaining to do.

Many Christians would probably denounce him, calling him a Pagan who is going to Hell. The Christian Coalition and the Concerned Women of America would likely denounce him; if she showed his powers were real, he would be metaphorically (or perhaps literally) crucified. Their bigotry, hate, and extreme conservatism would be the wool to cover their eyes.
