I think that's one of the many possible reasons, yes.
Sadly, the world isn't all binary oppositions, so hopefully, they'll come around to reality some day.

The thing that is older and more deeply ingrained in people's Psyche is the notion we call tribe, or my group, my people, the people. Religion created in time the justification and adaption that comes with the separation of people from the original group. Religion bond the people together although they came from different tribes.
But religion then became the bond that keep people together living with more or less the same values.
However, three different monotheistic religions were born in the Middle East around the same time more or less, the Jewish, Islamic and Christian Religions, and they have periodically fought each other sense the beginning of the great birthing of the Desert religions of the Middle East.
They continue to fight each other today in Iraq and Palestine.

Nope. I'm a Pagan, I don't think Christianity (or virtually any other religion) is evil - but if I tell someone I'm Pagan in certain settings, I'm liable to get the crap beat out of me.
The reason is that PEOPLE like to be right, and dualistic religions like Christianity and Islam tend to attract fundamentalists who get the notion that if they're right, everyone else must be wrong... and that the only way to "correct" a non-believer is be forcing them to convert. Fundamentalists - whether they're obsessed with religion, politics, or anything else - are the second biggest reason for institutionalized violence in the world, right behind power-hungry bast*rds who think that a big stick means they get to take whatever they want to. And the only reason they're #2 is because the power-hungry types tend to use the fundamentalists as their troops.

no, judaism for example doesn't view the world as a battle of good vs evil, and neither do many other religions.

Religion-Etymology
From Latin religere, "bind again", from prefix re-, again, + ligere, bind, + noun of action or process suffix -io (Wikitionary)
I understand religion as the act of reconnection, to reconnect with God, the world and ourselves
Well, the problem here is when we think we know more than others it could be another religion or other ideas and we don't open ourselves to learn. if we think our religion is the best why wasting our time criticizing other religions. That's whats makes a division, judgments, and the idea of religion is lost here.

We are stuck on an island, the tide is rising above our heads, we will die soon. Would you stand around because you believe there is no boat, or would you look for one? Sure, it's an uncharted island, there will likely be no boat, but what will you do besides look for one, criticize the people who look? If you don't look, yo can waste the little time left you are allowing yourself with no hope or purpose, because if someone finds the boat, it will be too late to come back and get you. But who will find the boat? Is there enough room for everybody?
Think about this.
On a side note, that picture of the red eye is really scary.

Possibly. But in this case one religion is extremely violent. Since all religions are different, each ones are looking for different signs of "evil", which they may find in each other.

There's no God to regulate the religions. They do as they please and the followers allow them to get away with it. Religion is a business in disguise. It's the belief business. The religions know that there's no man livung in a cloud. They are very competitive, for power and money.

Religion is simply a focus to take people's eyes and minds off of God.... I mean when people see all the fighting it makes them look away from God because his people are displaying high levels of ignorance, hate, lies, and lack of faith.

It is ridiculous, because by killing the next man, you are not able to show or prove to them why your religion is correct, and their is wrong. The toughest guy isn't always the right guy.
