I said something hurtful about two months ago to the guy I have been dating (long distance). It was during a visit to where he lives. It was a stupid comment about us breaking things off and I only said it because I got emotional about a tiff we were having. I thought that we had resolved it that night, but apparently he thought I didn't want to be with him for nearly a month before we finally got things figured out (even though we were talking he thought we were just friends).

I know I hurt him and he says he loves me still, but I can tell he is hurt and I think he is unsure about me since he apparently thought we were broken up. How can I prove that I love him (I already told him and I said sorry) and get back our normal relationship? I feel like he is distancing from me and I don't know what to do...

PS: I'm not looking for any comments about how "long distance relationships never work"

I wish I had the answer, I would have used it.

I had a stupid moment too, but I couldn't fix what I helped break.

Good luck with yours though.

People in relationships sometimes screw up and hurt each other. You've said you're sorry, and you try to get back to normal, but it is going to take time to repair the wounds.

I'll be honest with you though... this may be enough of a wedge in the relationship that it gradually ends from here. If you were not long distance, it might not be that drastic, but when you're apart, everything seems bigger and more intense. Good luck.

Express your feelings explicitly if you haven't already. Make something for him that you know it's his favorite, then send it to him. It'll show that you took the time to make something special for him. A gift bought is nice, but not as personal.
He might be feeling hurt because of what had happen, or he has changed and want to split? Maybe during that "friend period" something happened. You should find out. If you guys love each other you should be able to work it out and get through it, how tough and long that'll take. If it's love, you'll care, conquer fears, and work through it.

Best of luck. Happy holidays!

i say let it go and find someone u can be with all the time...........the most part of the relationship is hanging out with your partner and all that. your supposed to be best friends. you cant be in a relationship in which u feel like that your missing out. I'm telling you form experience, you want to have a healthy relationship.
